We had a great first week of testing! Thank you for your support in ensuring that your child arrived to school on time and got a good night's rest. Your involvement is greatly appreciated. We are excited and proud of our students to show off what they know!
MSTEP State Testing for 3rd- 5th graders coming up:
MSTEP testing will take place:- Tuesday, April 22nd; Math; Grades 3rd - 5th
- Wednesday, April 23rd: Math 3rd- 5th
- Friday April 25th Testing Make Up Day
- Tuesday April 29th Science 5th grade only
- Thursday May 1st Social Studies 5th grade only
- Testing Make Ups will be done the week of April 29th-May 2nd as needed.
How can you help your student to prepare?
- Make sure your child gets to school on time to help the day start off smoothly
- Get a good night's sleep
- Eat a good breakfast (we will have breakfast at school too)
- Encourage them to do their "personal best"
- We have headphones students can borrow, but if they have a pair at home they prefer you can send them in.
- Cell phones and smart watches are not allowed in the testing rooms. These should stay at home for safe keeping. Any at school will be collected until the testing is over for the day.
- We will do daily raffle drawings for our students taking the MSTEP to help encourage them as they work!

Let's take a moment to thank the amazing bus drivers who safely transport our children to and from school every day. Their dedication and care do not go unnoticed!

Strategic Plan Informational Meeting
Superintendent Dr. Darrin Slade will introduce Kalamazoo Public Schools 2025-2030 Strategic Plan by holding meetings at every school. A downloadable document with all of the meetings can be found below. The first meetings will be held on March 24 and the final meetings on May 21.
Employees, parents and community members are invited to attend any meeting. Parkwood's meeting will be on May 1st, 2025 at 5:30 in the former computer lab near the library.
