Responsible, Safe, Respectful
Berlin Elementary Vision
It is the vision of Berlin Elementary School to empower each student to grow academically, socially, and emotionally based on their individual needs. Students will be provided with meaningful, relevant, and connected learning to reach success. We will foster a learning environment that collaborates with families and the community to achieve this vision.
Welcome Back
Dear BES Families,
Welcome to a new school year! I am very excited to be leading Berlin Elementary School as the Principal this school year. I am very excited to continue my time at BES and look forward to another fantastic year of learning with our students.
We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both the home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that they:
- Be Responsible, Safe and Respectful
- Attend school daily and arrives on time, ready for the day’s learning experience - If your child is unable to attend school for any reason, please call the Main Office (518-658-1500) in the morning to report the absence. We will be following up with phone calls if a child is absent and we have not received a phone call.
- Read daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills
- Know and follow the expectations on our Building Wide Behavior Matrix
- Shares school experiences with you so that you are aware of his/her school life
All students enrolled at Berlin Elementary School are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at NO CHARGE to your household each day of the 24-25 school year. No further action is required on your part to participate in these meal programs. September breakfast and lunch menus can be found below.
We will be holding a Supply Drop Off for students in grades K-5 on Wednesday, September 4th from 2-4pm. We hope that you can join us. Students will have the opportunity to see their new classroom for the upcoming school year.
I will continue to send this newsletter monthly to help keep you informed of all events and information regarding BES. I will occasionally send emails or calls, using School Messenger, to remind you of important information. I can always be reached by email at jcataldo@berlincentral.org.
The wonderful BES staff and I feel privileged to be a part of this school community and thank
you for your support.
Best,
Jodi Cataldo
Principal
