Falcon Flyer
Belong. Inspire. Grow.
Straight from the Hardt
Hello Ridgeline Families- The high school life is a busy one! After a festive homecoming week, we were thinking things might slow down…they don’t!
Homecoming was a huge success in terms of spirit and togetherness. We enjoyed over 1000 students at the dance last Saturday—that’s an experience! The kids were great and they were having a blast! We have some nice pics of our Homecoming Court in today’s Flyer.
While we were dancing here, our Ridgeline Regiment was showing their moves and music to the crowd and judges at their first competition of the year in Kennewick. They also had huge success and brought home plethora of top awards!
This week all fall sports were in competitions every day of the week. All of our teams are enjoying some level of success and growth. Some at the top of the GSL and some grinding and battling every week. We don’t measure all successful outcomes in high school sports by the final record of wins and losses. Our coaches understand their role of building up young people and teaching through adversity. That’s where character comes from, right?
We’re already to that point where some of our seniors are playing their last league home games, so we celebrated senior nights this past week for softball, cross-country, and soccer. It’s important to celebrate our seniors in this way and enjoy their emotions as they reflect on their many years enjoying a sport with so many close friends. These transitional moments are important endings that will lead to new beginnings in their lives.
Our first Academic Progress Check is coming up on Monday. Grades will be updated Monday night, so a quick check in Powerschool on Tuesday may be useful for you and your student.
Our East Region schools hosted an informational night this week for parents. It was really a forum to open up the dialogue as a “community” about some of the risks and challenges of parenting/teaching our young people at a time when the cell phone, social media, and other tech devices are trapping our kids time, focus, and overall health and well-being. We did not record the presentation, but the links to some resources and topics we discussed are below.
We look forward to honoring our Veterans in November and are calling on all friends and family members of our students to be recognized through our Ridgeline Veteran’s Honor Wall. This requires submitting some information and is time-sensitive. Please see the directions below. The date of our all-school assembly is…. Family, friends, and community members who are veterans or want to honor veterans, are invited to join us.
We are looking for anyone in our community who can spare some time and some Blood! Ridgeline is hosting a blood donation drive Nov. 1 and you can sign up through the digital link below. It takes about an hour of your time and, as you know, the need is great in our region. All types of blood are welcome!
Thank you parents for your continued support and encouragement of our students and staff at Ridgeline High School. We certainly wouldn’t be the kind of “community school” that we are without our shared focus to provide a space for our kids to truly Belong. Inspire one another. And Grow through each new experience.
Impress your friends with your knowledge, read the Falcon Flyer!
Make it a great weekend! --Mr. Hardt

Veterans Honor Wall
2024 Ridgeline HS Veterans Honor Wall
We would like to honor the veterans in your family during Veterans Day next month. We have a few questions and you can upload a photograph of your family members and closest friends who have served. These vets will be honored during the assembly and throughout the week on our video screens in the Commons.
You can only fill out one form, but each form can accept up to 5 veterans. We are requesting students and staff to fill out information for one veteran, but you can add up to four more if you have a lot of service history in your immediate family.
Photographs in uniform are wonderful, but it is not required that uploaded photos are of someone in their uniform. Please complete submissions by Thursday, Oct. 31 so we can include your honorees in the assembly the following week. Thank you for helping us honor those who you are close to. Veterans Day is an important day to celebrate our service men and women.
Falcon Artists
Check out these highly original and unique abstract watercolor paintings from Mr. Genther’s Painting class! These paintings stood out for their creativity, their use of balance, variety, and unity. Students pictured are: Gracie Brickner, Jenna Montgomery, Cody Herrera, Aiden Roda, Emmy Van Lith, Rhiannon DeRaedt. Photo 2: Kallie Haveman, Makayla Sweeney, Aimee Thompson, Layla Kent, Hailey Davis. You can see these artworks and more in the upper C-wing. Way to go Falcon Artists!”
Our drawing students have been putting in so much hard work that has paid off! Ryder Cross and Hunter Davis used color pencil on their personal choice projects while Georgie Green, Karmin Ely, Zoya Paul, Kaitlinn Brown, Evan Castillo, and Silas Merino worked diligently on these shaped landscape pieces. Their bold and vibrant color pencil work made these shapes really pop! Come by the art display in the C-Wing upstairs to check out these incredible pieces and many more. Great job artists!
