Honored to Receive the Dave Berryman NCLA/ACTE Scholarship Award
I was deeply honored to have been awarded the Dave Berryman NCLA/ACTE Scholarship, representing both Upper Bucks County Technical School and Pennsylvania at the NCLA_CTE/ACTE Best Practices Conference. This incredible event brought together 450 leaders in Career and Technical Education (CTE) and agriculture from across the nation. It was a humbling experience to collaborate with such dedicated professionals and share in their vision for the future of education. I left the conference inspired and more committed than ever to bringing back new ideas and innovations for our students and community.
Health Care Careers Program Hosts Life-Saving Blood Drive
We're proud to announce that our Health Care Careers Program recently hosted a successful blood drive in partnership with Miller-Keystone Blood Center. Our students received specialized training, enabling them to volunteer and support this crucial initiative. Thanks to the incredible generosity of students and staff across all programs, we collected enough blood donations to save 66 lives! A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and helped make a meaningful difference in our community!
Senior Citizen Expo and Must Watch Highlights
I am grateful for Senator Coleman's dedication to our senior community and honored to have
our students play a role in it. Our seniors were provided valuable resources, information, and opportunities to enhance their well-being and quality of life. Simultaneously, it served as a platform to showcase our outstanding students, faculty, and programs. Looking forward to more meaningful connections ahead!
Special Thanks to CPR Heart Starters for Empowering Our Students!
A huge thank you to Craig Spector and the CPR Heart Starters Inc. Safety Training team for providing outstanding instruction to our Dental and Healthcare Careers students at UBCTS! 🎉 Thanks to your efforts, 35 students earned their BLS Healthcare Provider CPR certification, a vital skill for their education and future careers. The course was incredibly well-received, and we appreciate the positive impact it has had on preparing our students for success in the healthcare field. We’re grateful for this partnership and your commitment to empowering our students!
STEM Demo Day with Universal Technical Institute at UBCTS
It was another exciting day at Upper Bucks County Technical School! All four classes in the Transportation Hall gathered in our shop for an engaging STEM demo from Universal Technical Institute, Inc. Students had a fantastic time learning about the hands-on projects UTI students tackle, gaining valuable insights into real-world technical applications. The demo sparked enthusiasm and curiosity, giving our students a glimpse into future opportunities in the transportation and technical industries. A big thank you to Universal Technical Institute for inspiring our students and sharing such an educational and fun experience!
Culinary and Baking Students Prepare for Fundraiser at Arcobaleno Pasta Machines
Our talented culinary and baking students, who are heading to Italy in July 2025, recently visited Arcobaleno Pasta Machines, LLC, to prepare and dry a large batch of pasta for an upcoming fundraiser! The students had an incredible hands-on experience using professional equipment and learning the art of pasta-making from the experts. This visit not only helped them prepare for their fundraiser but also deepened their skills and appreciation for authentic Italian cuisine. UBCTS Welcomes St. Luke's University Health Network for Healthcare Opportunities Discussion
We were excited to recently welcome Liz Deck and Beth Fogel from St. Luke's University Health Network to UBCTS for an insightful discussion on volunteer and co-op opportunities in the healthcare field. A special highlight was Senior Abilen Honorato, a Patient Care Assistant at St. Luke's Same Day Surgery Center, who shared her personal experiences and inspired her classmates to explore similar career paths. This collaboration between Upper Bucks County Technical School and St. Luke's underscores our commitment to nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals. It provides our students with valuable, hands-on experiences that empower them to make a difference in their communities even before they graduate.
Cooperation in the Workplace
October’s word of the month was cooperation. Cooperation is an essential workplace readiness skill for success. Congratulations to the students selected by their instructors for demonstrating this attribute daily.

Cer-Mac's dedication to quality and innovation is truly inspiring and serves as a model for our students. A special thank you to Laura Hottenstein, Trish McIntyre, and Michelle Hirschbuhl for sharing their invaluable insights and giving us a behind-the-scenes look at the incredible work being done at Cer-Mac. SkillsUSA Day
Our AM and PM students recently participated in SkillsUSA Day and discovered the incredible opportunities SkillsUSA offers! 🚀 Students sharpened their communication skills with Elevator Speeches and collaborated to create catapults to ignite their enthusiasm for joining SkillsUSA. Thank you to Andy Hammer and Amy Silvoy from the SkillsUSA Council for leading this engaging event, which included informative sessions, teambuilding activities, and leadership activities.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported the "Everything and the Kitchen Sink" Upper Bucks County Tech Culinary Bingo Fundraiser! Thanks to your generosity, we raised $11,000 for the Jim Hey Memorial Culinary Scholarship Fund. Your support, along with the Bankers Dine and Donate initiative, will help aspiring chefs pursue their culinary dreams while honoring Jim Hey's legacy. We are incredibly grateful for your contributions to our students' futures!

Congratulations, Logan Hirsch , on being selected as UBCTS September Student of the Month!
Logan Hirsch, a Quakertown Community High School senior, is our Student of the Month, celebrated for her exceptional achievements and contributions to our school community. As a dedicated member of the Graphic Communications program, Logan consistently earns First Honors and has been recognized with the Most Dedicated Award for her remarkable commitment and enthusiasm.
Logan was influenced to attend UBCTS by her mother, Barbara who is a proud champion for CTEand what it stands for. The decision was then reinforced by her brother, Kayen, a proud UBCTS welding alumni. She began her career path here in 9th grade and has not looked back.
Logan's talents shine through her impressive performance in competitions. She stood out among her peers by earning a bronze medal in the SkillsUSA District competition in Advertising and Design. In addition to her academic success, she serves as our school photographer, skillfully capturing significant moments and enriching our visual narrative.
Logan is also a proud National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) member and has achieved Outstanding Level III award in her program. She also is a Cooperative Education student employed at DSR Printing in Doylestown. She plans to pursue a career as a printing operations specialist while continuing her passion for tattoo art design and photography.
Logan loves being active in tech and assisting Mr. McClung. She enjoys developing her leadership skills and helping students understand the Graphics Communications program better. Her efforts are rewarded when Mr. McClung’s wife bakes her special mocha cookies for her to enjoy.
In her spare time, Logan likes snowboarding, rollerblading, and photography.
Her blend of academic excellence, creative talent, and future aspirations exemplifies the spirit of our school community. Congratulations, Logan, on embodying dedication and excellence!
