Dear SJF Jr. Community,

Today, Sept. 30th, we will have a special school assembly in recognition of Truth and Reconciliation Day. It is primordial to reflect on the importance of reconciliation, healing, and building relationships with Indigenous Peoples and to continue to reflect every other day.

As part of the assembly, our students will be performing “O’Siem” by Susan Aglukark, a powerful song that celebrates unity, community, and the healing journey we must all take together. Through this song, we aim to foster a sense of togetherness and inspire our students to be part of a positive change toward reconciliation. I believe that music has a unique ability to bring people together and to encourage us to listen, learn, and grow. “O’Siem” will serve as a meaningful reminder that, while the path toward reconciliation may be long, we can all play a role in making a difference.

SCHOOL HOURS

Your child must arrive at school on time. If they don’t attend daycare in the morning, you can drop them off at 9:05 a.m. in the schoolyard when supervision begins. Please remember that classes begin at 9:15 a.m.

September flew by and we are settling into our daily routines.

Many daycare students are coming to daycare without a snack - please remember to pack extra snacks for the afternoon.

There is a 24-hour notice to be given if there will be a change in your attendance at daycare. We need to keep the routine, and safety of all our students in mind. Parents are asked to email the daycare as well as the teacher if there is a change to be made.

The statement of account is mass emailed and generated at the beginning of each month. They are due upon receipt. Please make sure account balances are paid in full and are up to date. We appreciate your attention in this matter.
