St. Columba's Primary School
NEWSLETTER | TERM 2 | WEEK 9 | 13 JUNE 2024
“O, Jesus.
We adore you and we know you love us too.
We leave our school in your hands.
Here we shall create and discover with your grace.
Teach us how to love and respect.
Bless our principals, teachers, administrators, and our classmates.
Amen.”
Dear Parents and Carers,
On Friday we celebrated St Columba's Day with a wonderful Mass by Year 5, followed by the Mission Games fundraiser for the Bishop’s LifeLink Appeal. Our school raised $864.60, which will go towards supporting the agencies that work alongside LifeLink, to improve the outcomes for those in need within our local community. Thank you to everyone for your efforts and contributions to this great appeal.
As part of our commitment to 'Student Voice' within the school, our Student Representative Council discussions and feedback were shared with me this week via our Head Boy and Head Girl. We continue to listen to our students, adapt our programs to meet their evolving needs, and build on the successes of this term.
Our Interschool Cross Country runners have been training hard before school in preparation for the carnival next week at Manning Park - we wish them the well and hope the day is fun and rewarding.
God bless and keep safe.
Allen McMahon
Principal

We look forward to students deepening their understanding of the First Peoples of Australia as we celebrate the 2024 theme, “Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud.” Students are encouraged to come to school in NAIDOC free dress colours on Friday, 28 June. No donation is required.

DOSC Footy Tipping 2024
Hello all,
Round 13 weekend footy had huge upsets, thrashings, season-firsts and controversial calls. For the WA teams, Dockers enjoyed a well-deserved bye , while eagles became the first team to lose to the Kangaroos in 2024.
Round 13 of footy brought to light some remarkable forecasting abilities within our group. Among the standout performers were Ange, Mathew, and Santhosh, who all managed to correctly predict the outcomes of five matches. Following closely behind by 5 people with 4 correct tips each led by Dan M.
Let's give a big round of applause to our standout performers from Round 13!
- Ange Cooper: Scored 5 out of 7 tips, with a margin of 3
- Mathew S: A close contender with 5 correct picks, cruising with a margin of 23
- Santhosh P: Held the line with 5 accurate predictions, holding steady with a margin of 33
- Dan M not far behind, hitting the mark with 4 correct picks, edging ahead with a margin of 3
In the overall leaderboard, Santhosh has opened up a 4 game lead with 70 points with Ange Cooper, Dan M tied on 66 points. Craig P and Mathew S are hot on their heels, tied with 65 tips each, distinguished solely by their margins.
Here's the current leaderboard:
