1. Guidance & Counseling Department's Open House
During this year's Back to School Night, the Guidance & Counseling Department will be hosting an "Open House". Feel free to stop in the department to greet counseling staff and learn about upcoming events.
Though this is not necessarily a time for individual, student-specific meetings, it is a time when families may gain familiarity with the department and it's offerings.
We hope many can join in Back To School Night festivities, and hope to see you tomorrow!
2. SAT School Day Registration (Seniors Only): 10/17
In general, students will pay $60 for the test. However, if a student is enrolled in free/reduced lunch, they may be waived from the $60 SAT registration fee. Checks will be made payable to Lacey Township School District and given to LTHS Guidance by October 1, 2024.
More information may be found below!

3. PSAT (& National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test!): 10/17
On October 17, 2024, all freshmen will complete the PSAT 8/9. During this same day, all sophomores and juniors will complete the PSAT/NMSQT.
This test, which prepares students for the SAT, doubles as an exam that may help students pay for college, should their scores qualify. The National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test has a rich history, and in recent years, a couple of Lacey Lions have been recognized as commended students. If interested in learning about the scholarship opportunities presented through this exam, review this website!
4. Guidance & Counseling Department Updates
Please see the letter below, released to Lacey Township High School families during the first week of September.
5. Counselor Contact
We are thankful for our strong counseling team at Lacey Township High School. Feel free to contact your student's counselor via their email address noted below.
6. AP Credit Purchase Letter
All students enrolled in AP classes this year received an important AP letter detailing opportunities to partner with FDU and/or OCC through our AP program. Further, it also reviews Lacey's policy for AP exam fees and relevant deadlines.
As a reminder, payment and registration for the *optional* FDU/OCC dual enrollment programs is Friday, September 27, 2024. The deadline for AP class fees to Lacey Township High School is November 15, 2024, to the LTHS Guidance & Counseling Office. Checks may be made payable to Lacey Township High School.
7. College and Career Night at the Jersey Shore
Students and families of all grades at Lacey Township High School should consider attending Ocean County School Counseling Association's College and Career Night at the Jersey Shore, on October 8th! See flyer for more information.
8. Life is Worth Living!
This month is National Suicide Prevention Month. Our students have been provided with mental health resources during lunch, and our No Place For Hate club has launched, with the help of our SAC, Mrs. Kelly Brown. Mrs. Brown, alongside of our NPFH leaders, created a beautiful bulletin board in C-Hall that shared a meaningful message: Life's Worth Living! Many of the items used to create the letters are hand-created notes from our own youth, with positive messages written on them.
To further celebrate life, all of our students are receiving a $5 gift card in homerooms, courtesy of High School Nation. We thank High School Nation for their generous sponsorship!
9. UPstanders!
UPstanders (noun):
A community-engaging anti-bullying program that facilitates celebration, family togetherness and local economy stimulation.
LTHS Guidance & Counseling Department is recognizing our UPstanders for being leaders, contributing to a positive school climate.
Each UPstander will be rewarded a gift card to a local restaurant! Parents will be encouraged to take their whole family to engage in this activity.
The spirit of the UPstander program is multi-pronged and seeks to achieve the following:
1. Encourage the facilitation of a positive school climate;
2. Celebrate our youth for being contributory to a healthy community;
3. Engage our local small businesses;
4. Promote family togetherness through a meal.
As research shows, it is often through a positive family environment that students increase their overall sense of belonging— and those with a strong sense of belonging have prosocial behaviors, helping to facilitate a positive school climate.
We are pleased to announce our first UPstanders of this school year!
