Message To Parents From Our Executive Headteacher
Dear Parent/Carer,
We have had a very busy two weeks since our return to school after the holiday period and your children have settled back into their class routines. As I move around both schools, I am struck by how courteous and polite your children are and it is always lovely to be greeted with a wave or a smile.
You will be aware that Pope Francis has declared this year as a Jubilee Year. The theme ‘Pilgrims of Hope’, is a year of hope for a world suffering the impacts of war, the ongoing legacy of the COVID-19 pandemic, and an escalating climate crisis. We hope you will journey with us as we begin the exploration of the theme now, and in the coming months. Please check the diary dates in the newsletter for up and coming events relating to the jubilee year. as we would like share our school journey with you all – with the hope that you too will make your own journey through your parishes and communities.
Wishing you a lovely weekend,
Best wishes,
Geraldine Hampton
Executive Headteacher
New diary dates will continue to be included weekly

Gospel: The Wedding at Cana (John 2:1-11)
Using the Wednesday Word link below, read this Sunday’s Gospel
and reflect on the questions below with your family.
You will have an opportunity to discuss them again next week in School during the Gospel/Well done Assembly.

KS1
- Why did Mary ask Jesus to create wine for the wedding?
- What happened to the wine? How did this happen?
- Why is this miracle important?
KS2
- What did Jesus mean when he said, “My time has not come yet”?
- Why do you think Jesus carried out his mother’s wishes, even though he did not want to at first?
- This was the first miracle of Jesus. Can you find out what his last miracle was?
School Ties
The children look lovely in their school uniform. Sadly, some children are not wearing their ties.
The St Charles school tie gives the school its unique identity and this is something we want to preserve and promote throughout the local area. Staff will be checking to ensure that all school uniform criteria is followed. Thank you for your support.
Attendance
Our whole school attendance is currently at 93.5%
We are working towards achieving 96% attendance this academic year. Please help us to achieve this by ensuring that your child attends school each day and by not booking any holiday during term time. Please be aware that holiday leave in term time cannot be authorised.
In line with the Department for Education guidelines, where pupils miss school without a good reason (including a holiday), the Local Authority and schools can intervene, and you may be issued a fine.
There is strong correlation between good attendance and good progress. So together, let’s give our children the best possible chance of reaching their potential.

Chaplin's Pantomime
This week, the whole school enjoyed a fantastic performance of Beauty and the Beast from Chaplins Pantomime, which brought joy and laughter to everyone!
A huge thank you to the PFA for their contribution towards the cost, helping to make this wonderful experience possible.
Prayer Bear
Each week a different child in Nursey will take Polly, our Nursery Prayer Bear, home for the weekend.
Last weekend, Polly spent time with Rufael, who really enjoyed praying with Polly Bear.
We look forward to seeing where her adventures take her this weekend!
