Michigan weather is constantly changing each day. Please make sure your child has the proper attire for outdoor play. We go outside every day for students to enjoy the fresh air. If you are in need of resources as we approach the winter months please don't hesitate to reach out to Taneia.

Picture Retake Day is scheduled for November 19th, 2024.

CALLING ALL ARTISTS! It is time to submit your Reflections entry this year. The National PTA Reflections theme for the 2024-25 school year is "Accepting Imperfections”.

You may only enter ONE piece per the following art categories you qualify for:

• Dance Choreography

• Film Production

• Literature

• Music Composition

• Photography

• Visual Arts (2D and 3D)

Only new and original works of art will be accepted. All entries are due by: November 12, 2024

The Road Commission of Oakland County has notified me that beginning Tuesday, October 29th, Maple Road, from Beck to Benstein, will be under construction. They will begin with milling and then finish paving a day or two later. The work will be done under flag control, meaning traffic will be allowed through at alternating intervals. This will almost certainly result in delays for commuters that travel this route. If possible, I strongly encourage our families that travel this route to start their trip to school early and to pack some extra patience.

We will be celebrating Halloween on Thursday, October 31 at Wixom Elementary. Students will be allowed to wear costumes to school, however, masks covering the eyes or entire face and large costumes are not permitted on the bus.

All costumes must be wholesome and school appropriate. Please follow these additional guidelines:

· No toy weapons including guns, swords, and knives.

· No costumes with fake blood or death-related.

· No costumes that reflect anything related to violence, drugs, or alcohol.

All families are invited for our Outdoor Halloween Parade on Thursday, October 31 at 11:30 am. The parade will be outside along the Walking Path, if weather permits. If it rains, we may need to cancel the outdoor parade.

Since October 31st is a half day of school, students will go back into the building after the parade to pack up. For the safety of all of the children, parents must follow the Wolf Pup pickup procedures starting at 12:25 pm to pick up your child from school.

Our next PTA Meeting of the year is WEDNESDAY, November 6th at 6:00 PM. All members of the PTA are welcome to attend. The meeting will be held in person in the Media Center. Childcare will be available. We will also offer a virtual option.

The class of 2032 is having a can and bottle drive to raise funds for their end-of-year celebration. Cans can be dropped off at the container by the cafeteria doors, or text (734) 891-4933 to arrange a pick up. No cans? No problem! Use this link to donate to the 5th Grade Celebrations.

Join us for a pasta dinner open to ALL Wixom Families. Thursday, November 7th 5:30-6:30, 6:30-7:30, or 7:30-8:30. Dinners are $10 a person and can be dine in or carry-out. Return this order form with payment (cash or check made out to Wixom PTA) by October 28th.
