Monthly News from the Vermilion Parish School System
February 2025
From the office of Superintendent Tommy Byler...
As we begin the final four months of the year, we all start thinking ahead of all the things we still have to do in such a short amount of time. This is always the time of the year in which we are hitting full stride on our academic goals, we have a plethora of extra activities in full stride, and we start the process of planning for the 25-26 school year. I can just tell you that it is one of the most high paced times for many of us as lots of tasks are coming in many directions.
Despite this, I have to say that the unexpected snow break put us all in a refreshed mindset that we are ready to conquer whatever is thrown our way. On a side note, I do have to say that I throuroughly enjoyed looking at social media pictures of families experiencing pure joy and excitement in the snow. We all were able to take a step back, slow down the world and just enjoy family fun. I also have to say that I have a new found appreciation for all of you who were successful in your snowman building abilities. For me, the struggle to build was real. Kudos to those of you who had success.
In closing, my ask for the month is to continue getting your kids to school, stay on top of their assignments and grades, and be present as the events and needs of the spring become more complicated. Continue being the part of the village that makes us Vermilion Parish.
