Class Placement 2025-26 School Year (Repeated)
As warmer weather draws near and we transition from winter to spring, we begin thinking and planning for the transition from one school year to the next. Soon, the Brougham staff will start the process of placing students into classrooms for the 2025-26 school year. Class placement decisions consist of input from the principal, school counselor, grade level teachers, and if applicable, the special education staff. Every student will be carefully and conscientiously placed into an appropriate classroom with consideration of the following:
- Teacher Style
- Social Dynamics Between Students
- Balanced Gender Distribution
- Balanced Academic Abilities
- Balanced Behavioral and Social Skills
- Equivalent Class Sizes
As you can see, many variables are taken into consideration to ensure a successful school year for students and for teachers. Class placement is a very complex process and one the staff takes very seriously. Please know that we will do our very best to provide the kind of learning environment that will help your child to have a successful school year. Although we are unable to consider requests for specific teachers, we do value parent input regarding student personality, learning style, or other specific information the school is unaware of that would be valuable for the school to consider when making class placement decisions. Should you wish to provide such information, please send your information in writing in a sealed envelope addressed to Mrs. Conklin by April 30th. If there are not important issues beyond those your child’s current teacher is aware, there is no need to submit a letter or meet with the principal. Please know that all students will be given equal consideration for placement whether a parent letter is submitted or not. Final class placements decisions rest with the principal.
Once announced, classroom assignments will not be changed.
