Fremont Focus

Fremont School District 79 greatly values regular communication with the community to keep all informed of District programs, engaged with key initiatives, and apprised of student and staff accomplishments. As such, the Public Relations department creates an annual Communications Plan which outlines the District's priorities, goals, and objectives for keeping our constituents informed. The 2024-2025 Communications Plan has five primary areas of focus:

• Devise strategies to aid in staff recruitment and retention efforts
• Implement communication systems that will create efficiencies and automation for both staff and stakeholders
• Bolster student leadership with a District podcast
• Support community engagement as part of the District’s Educational Long-Range Facility Plan
• Promote District news to media
  

We look forward to sharing more information and updates with our community throughout the school year concerning these areas of focus.

This summer, the District was honored to receive national recognition from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA). NSPRA’s Publications and Digital Media Excellence Awards recognize outstanding tactical materials such as publications, newsletters, videos, podcasts, websites, social media, and more. FSD79 earned the top honor—Award of Excellence—in three categories: Newsletter (Fremont Digest), Photo, and Website. We are grateful to see our commitment to transparency and storytelling with our community recognized.

Our students, teachers, staff, and administrators do amazing work on a daily basis and we are excited to continue sharing those stories with our Fremont community.

FSD79 has collaborated with Mundelein School Districts 75 and 120, Fremont Library, Mundelein Parks and Recreation District, and Village of Mundelein to create a shared community resource guide. This document provides families with information on a wide variety of programs and services that each organization offers. To view the resource guide, please click here.

K-8 students will be taking the NWEA Measurement of Academic Progress (MAP) in reading and math on the mornings of Thursday, September 5 and Friday, September 6. Help your child do their best by making sure they get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and arrive on time with a fully charged device.

Developing positive relationships between our teachers and parents is central to the education of our students. Thank you to everyone who came out over the last two weeks to the Curriculum Nights at our schools. We look forward to the continued collaboration! Curriculum Night for Lincoln Early Learning Center is set for September 19.

AUTUMN MUM FUNDRAISER
The Autumn Mum fundraiser is underway! Grab your beautiful fall mums now through 9/15 with a pick-up date at the Elementary school parking lot on 9/21 from 9:30-12:30!! There are 5 colors (orange, yellow, red, purple and white) and 2 sizes to choose from! 9” are $12 and 14” are $30! Order yours today! PICTURE DAY INFO
Picture day is coming up! Send your child to school looking picture-perfect on Wednesday, September 11. All picture orders will be online only. Please see the flyer for your correct school code and ordering instructions.

SPIRIT WEAR
Spread school spirit with custom Wildcats gear! This online sale runs from Friday, August 23 - Friday September 6. NO LATE ORDERS WILL BE ACCEPTED! All items are custom-made for you! Once the online sale is complete, items will go into production, which takes approximately 3-4 weeks before being shipped to Fremont. They will then be sent home with your child. Each item is unique and comes from different manufacturers, so please check the sizing guide on each item you are purchasing. Check out the flyer for more info.

No more cutting out rectangles and sending them into school to be counted. PTO MEMBERSHIP/ONLINE DIRECTORY FOR 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR

If you already have an account in Membership Toolkit, thank you for creating and/or updating your Membership Toolkit account last year.

If you don't have an account in Membership Toolkit, set it up now for free! Once you have created an account in Membership Toolkit your child will appear in the online directory immediately (that's if you choose to do so). To create an account, go to fsd79.membershiptoolkit.com and follow the directions in the attached form (Online Student Directory Set Up Instructions 2024-2025).

To gain access to the Online Student Directory your account must be active and you must pay the $15 PTO Membership Family Fee. If you paid your PTO Membership fee through your TeacherEase account before June 15th, your payment has been confirmed and you currently have access to the Online Student Directory. If you didn’t pay your PTO Membership Family Fee before June 15th, you can pay the $15 PTO Membership Family fee thru Venmo @Fremont-PTO; or by bringing or sending the attached form with your cash payment or check made payable to Fremont PTO to any school front office. The option to pay the PTO Membership Fee thru your TeacherEase account is no longer available. Once we receive confirmation of your payment, we will give you access to the online directory. Please note it may take up to one week to be granted access to the online directory.

BIRTHDAY BOARD

Celebrate your Fremont Student's special day! "Happy Birthday, Your Child's Name" can appear on the Fremont Electronic Message Board. Just complete the Birthday Board Request Google Form 2024-2025; or complete the birthday board form and send it back to any school front office with your $5 payment per birthday message.
