CES- Principal Message

Parents,

This Friday night, our PTA will host a Technology Education Night through a generous grant from the National PTA and AT&T. This event will allow parents to reflect on various aspects of screen readiness and to become familiar with tools and resources that help families determine screen readiness and discuss digital life. We will have childcare available where the students will be engaged in STEM-focused activities. Please register at the link below so we order enough free pizza for all families attending. Thank you.

The Track Change Request Window closes at 8:00 pm tonight. Track Change Requests will not be accepted after the deadline. Please see below in the principal message for more information.

WCPSS is considering implementing a county-wide electronic device policy and would like your input. The survey for parents and community members to share their views regarding cellphones and other electronic devices in schools will be open until March 11. The survey is available in English and Spanish until that time.

On February 17, we had a meeting for parents interested in their student testing for SSA. Here is a copy of the presentation that was shared from the county:

Track 4: April 28 - May 9

I will post the Track 2-4 Test Request Link once I receive it.

All test request windows will open at 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time on the first day of the test request window and close at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on the last day of the request window.

Requests to test will not be processed after the window closes.

We are already starting to plan for next school year. As we start making these plans, it helps us to know if your family is moving or going to another school next year.

Are you a parent of a student who is currently in Kindergarten-4th grade, but your child will NOT be returning to Carpenter next year? If so, please fill out this quick form:

If you would like to request a track change for the 2025-2026 school year, please provide the information requested below by 8:00 pm EST, March 9, 2025. All forms submitted by the deadline will be given equal consideration.

Completion of this form does not guarantee a track change will be granted.

Track changes are limited by things such as the availability of open seats, number of classes per grade level, staffing, and any year-round middle school siblings. Please keep in mind that there are class size laws we must follow.

If you have questions surrounding your child and the safety of using devices, this night is for you. Childcare will be provided onsite, so you can focus on the information being presented.
