SLMS Parents and Guardians,

This week was a great first full week. Our students are already beginning to level up for the Spring Semester.

We are not sure what the weather will look like Monday night into Tuesday. If an unexpected weather event occurs, the district will communicate through the usual channels (news, email, etc.). Please be sure your homes are prepared by wrapping pipes and doing all the cold weather things we are reminded about each winter. Remember the 4 Ps - People, Pipes, Plants, and Pets!

As the we kick off the new year and second half of the school year, we will begin preparing for following school year recruiting for new board members. Many of our current board members have students moving on to high school leaving lots open positions! Serving on a PTO is a great way to connect with other parents, learn more about the school staff and operations and serve your community! Daytime availability is important but not required…the majority of our current board works full-time! If you or someone you know is interested in serving on the PTO board in a leadership or committee position, please reach out to us today!

Shared Dreams Volunteer Days

SLMS' designated Shared Dreams Volunteer Days are January 14th and 15th from 10am-2pm. Any amount of time you can volunteer during 10am-2pm is appreciated. Volunteers need to have completed their annual background check. Volunteer Duties involve organizing donations and assisting the Shared Dreams staff with specific tasks. Questions, contact the Shared Dreams Center at 281-634-2916.

SLMS PTO

Support our students and staff by setting up a monthly donation to PTO. You can set this automatic donation starting at a few dollars. Remember that every dollar helps our PTO do AMAZING things for our community.

When a new badge is printed for a student, a fine will be assessed in Skyward. Theh parent will receive an email with a link to pay Revtrak. The standardized fee of $8 will be placed on the Skyward account for the student.

Sugar Land MS Cell Phone Expectations

• Phones must be powered off and stored in the students' backpacks during the instructional day (8:20 AM - 4:10 PM).
• If a student needs to call home for any reason, they can use the phone in the office or in the classroom with permission.
• FBISD schools are not responsible for the loss or theft of student-owned devices per district policy. The student is responsible for retrieving the phone at the end of the day for the first and second offense.
