Yerington Music LCSD Summer School Concert
Thursday, July 11th:
A great performance by Yerington music students who took part in the summer school enrichments program. When all was said and done, students had about 15 class rehearsals featuring students with 8 months musical experience to 7 years experience. The group, led by YHS Teacher Chris Jeka, worked hard learning to play new instruments, made their own Canjos to perform on.
"The Jazz band members went above and beyond expectations. The power of music got them out of bed for the first four weeks of summer vacation to continue making music. They did an amazing job," says Jeka of his students' efforts.
