Assalam Alaykum dear parents, staff, and Mercy community,
As we approach the beginning of December, we want to inform you that our students will be taking their STAR tests to assess their growth since the start of the school year. These tests provide valuable insights into each student’s academic progress, identifying areas of strength and highlighting skills that may need additional support. This data allows teachers to tailor instruction to better meet students’ needs, ensuring that each child continues to grow and succeed.
Additionally, middle and high school students will be preparing for their finals. They’ll receive their final exam schedules on December 9th, and study guides will be provided a week before finals to support their preparation.
We also have some exciting events coming up:
Coffee with the Principal – Join us on tomorrow Friday, November 15, from 9:00 to 10:00 am. This is a wonderful opportunity to bring your questions, share your thoughts, and enjoy a warm cup of coffee together. We look forward to connecting with you!
Parents’ Night – Tomorrow Friday, November 15, we’re thrilled to welcome Sheila Stinnett from Edmond Family Counseling as our special guest. Discover how life skills programs are helping our students grow and succeed by equipping them with essential skills for life. Please fill out the form below to confirm your attendance.

Please be on time when picking up your child(ren). Dismissal ends at 3:55PM. All students remaining in the building after 4:10PM, if they do not have after school activities, will be sent to the Mercy Journey After Care and it will be billed to their tuition. You will pick them up from the Prek/KG Door.
Looking ahead, our online enrollment portal will open on December 2nd. Priority enrollment for current students will be available from December 2 to December 15, after which enrollment opens to the public. We encourage you to secure your child’s spot during this priority period.

School Closure
In case we decide to close school or go virtual, we will communicate a School closing or late start information in several ways: with our email and text notification systems, on the Mercy website, on the School's Facebook, Instagram, and lastly through the local TV stations. Our decision to make this call is deliberate, and we will try to make it as soon as possible. It is important that we have your correct contact information, so please log into Sycamore and ensure your email address and cell phone number are accurate on your parent profile.
Please remember that if you ever feel it is unsafe for you or your child to drive or be out in the weather, contact our front office @ mercyadmin@mercyschool.com to inform us. Children will not be penalized for missing or arriving late to school due to weather conditions.Thank you for being mindful of our weather procedures as we prioritize the safety of your children, as well as our faculty and staff.
Illness Policy Reminder
- We had a higher number of students (and teachers) dealing with illness this week. We would appreciate it if you could take a moment to review our illness policy:
- When a student has a temperature of 100.4 degrees or more, they need to be fever-free, without the use of fever reducers, for 24 hours before returning to School.
- In the case of vomiting, nausea, and/or diarrhea, students cannot return to School until 24 hours after symptoms have stopped.
OISF Engagement Dinners

Smile Train Club
We are thrilled to introduce the Smile Train Club at Mercy School Institute! Our mission is simple but powerful: to raise awareness and provide children born with cleft lip and/or palate with the life-changing surgeries they need to smile confidently and access the same opportunities as their peers. Every child deserves the chance to live a healthy, joyful life, and with your support, we can make that a reality.
We work directly with Smile Train which is the largest cleft organization in the world. Athletic Corner
Winter Sports!
Every student should now be enrolled in either a sport or an elective for their elective hour. Electives and sports have been finalized. If there are any questions about sports or electives please contact coach nolan aliyah.nolan@mercyschool.com
Student Athletes: Grade Check
A reminder to all athletes: we conduct grade checks every other Thursday morning. Once the grade check is completed, no changes will be made until the following check. If a student is failing, they will be ineligible to participate in sporting events during the following week. The dates of grade checks are on the athletic google calendar.
Important Reminder for All Student Athletes and Parents
To ensure smooth communication and participation in upcoming sports events, we require that all parents of student athletes join the Remind group app specific to their child’s sport.
Please note:
• Any athlete whose parent is not active in the Remind app will not be permitted to travel to sporting events.
• The Remind app link and code for each sport can be found on the Athletic Google Calendar, listed under the game details for that day, we also send home QR codes to add the app.
