Keep Kids Moving All Winter
For most of us, as the temperature drops so does our activity level. But keeping active year-round is essential for everyone (not just kids) in maintaining a healthy weight, preventing the risk of chronic diseases, improving cardiovascular health, and building strong muscles and bones.
What’s more, among children and adolescents, increased physical activity has been shown to help improve attention, memory, executive functioning, processing speed, and cognition – all of which boost academic performance – and reduce the risk of depression.
So how much do we all need? Click here to view a breakdown of the amount of physical activity needed for each age group.

Happy Holidays!
The PTO was so happy to host two amazing holiday events over the past few weeks.
Thanks & Giving featured donuts, cider, and amazing musical performances. Winter Wonderland featured the PTO sharing donuts, hot chocolate and refreshments. Students outdid themselves decorating gingerbread houses. A festive celebration of sharing, giving and embracing the holiday spirit.
Thanks to all the parents who volunteered and donated to help make these events a success.

KLSD ArtsAlive
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Many thanks to all of you who have teamed up with KLSD ArtsAlive so far this year! We have promoted arts in education programming in the Katonah-Lewisboro School District since 1997 and has been a district-wide arts booster club for all KLSD schools since 2018. We believe that promoting the arts in our schools unifies our entire community. By supporting arts-related events and programming, we give everyone the opportunity to celebrate our talented students and teachers through the year.
Through fundraising efforts (and thanks to your support), KLSD ArtsAlive has been able to contribute funds in recent years to the Art Gallery, Pottery Wheels, the Sound Booth, Bandshells, etc for all to enjoy.
We also participate in Arts in Education programming by supporting our arts faculty in giving their classrooms the wonderful experience of immersion whether it be during Student Workshops at John Jay High School and Field Trips such as the annual one for the Lincoln Center for the Arts in NYC which is an absolute highlight of the students who are on this very special trip.
Without your financial support, we may not be able to offer these opportunities to our students. Throughout the year, you'll see us at the Theater performances, the Art Receptions, Concerts and other arts-related occasions which showcase the talents of our High School students. To find out more about us and see how you can become involved, please check out our website: https://klsdartsalive.org/
KLSD ArtsAlive wishes all a very joyous holiday and a Happy New Year.
Thank you so much for your continued support of KLSD ArtsAlive.
Sincerely,
KLSD ArtsAlive Board
