Gardens' Greetings
May/June
Another Fabulous Year in the Books!
I would like to thank all of you who emailed, called or met with me regarding placement. We are under way and your input was important. In the last week of summer you will receive your child's placement on Powerschool.
We had a very successful May. First, I would like to thank the third and fourth grade parents for making every effort to send your child in that week with a full stomach and a rested mind. We worked hard here on motivation and were excited to keep that energy flowing through the entire testing period. Kindergarten orientation was successful and it was wonderful to meet all of our new students and parents. A special thank you goes out to the teachers that were involved with greeting and observing the little ones. We ended May on a high note with Field Day. It was the first time we have moved the day to May-in hopes of cooler temperatures. Success!
In the upcoming weeks we will have the fourth grade Fun Day and our Teacher vs. Student First Ever Kickball Game. I would just like to remind parents to send their children in with sunscreen on for those days as we will be outside. You can also send extra in if you would like your child to reapply.
We are losing some icons in education to retirement. Mrs. Ambrose and Mrs. Shatten have both chosen to begin their retirement on July 1st. As they begin this new chapter in their life, we wish them the very best and look toward the challenge of filling these very BIG shoes!
The summer will find us moving some rooms around, preparing a schedule for the staff and students, finalizing class placement, updating the faculty room, planning events, and rejuvenating ourselves for the upcoming school year. I look forward to seeing you if you are stopping by in the next few weeks.
