60 SECONDS WITH THE SUPERINTENDENT
We appreciate our strong partnership with PTA. They support our District and our students in so many different ways. Students in K-12 are encouraged to enter this year’s “PTA Reflections” contest, with the theme of “Show Your Voice.” Click HERE for this week’s episode as we learn more about this contest which encourages students to show their voice in a number of creative ways.
Visit http://www.ohiopta.org/reflections/ for additional contest information.
STRATEGIC PLANNING - WE WANT YOUR VALUABLE FEEDBACK!
Strongsville City Schools, in partnership with The Impact Group, is embarking on developing a three-year strategic plan and we need your input! One of the ways we are asking for feedback is through surveys open to families of current SCS students, SCS staff, and community members. Survey Links for each group are found below. Please consider taking some time to provide your feedback, as it will be critical to the development of our goals and objectives over the next three years. Surveys will likely take 10-15 minutes to complete and will remain open through November 30th.
Strong community and family support is the foundation of a strong school district. We appreciate and look forward to receiving valuable input in shaping the future of Strongsville City Schools!

MUSTANG SPOTLIGHT - MR. TJ LETT, 3RD GRADE TEACHER AT WHITNEY ELEMENTARY
Mr. TJ Lett is in his 2nd year with Strongsville City Schools. Mr. Lett teaches third grade at Whitney Elementary. His undergraduate degree is from Notre Dame College. As his experience grows with our District, Mr. Lett hopes to get involved in coaching, as well as starting a club at Whitney Elementary. “In addition, I hope to continue growing relationships with families across the district through district held events,” said Mr. Lett.
“I love that my students are so open to learning new things. They are able to learn in so many different ways. This allows me a lot of flexibility in my lessons. I can come up with creative ways to engage them, whether it is with experiments, games, or projects,” added Mr. Lett.
“This district, and especially the team here at Whitney Elementary School, is amazing. I was brand new to the district last year, only knowing one other teacher in all of Strongsville. Every employee has really made me feel welcomed and valued. I get along with everyone and am always getting great ideas from other teachers. They are very open to sharing materials and how they go about teacher lessons. They are also willing to air grievances when things are not going well which leads to the conversations to continually grow and adapt throughout a school year.”
Thank you Mr. Lett for your enthusiasm and passion for teaching your third grade students at Whitney Elementary! #BeTheDifference
