Bus registration for 2024-2025 school year
Dear Monomoy families,
It is time to complete the transportation form in the Aspen family portal to let us know whether or not your student will be riding the bus for the 2024-2025 school year. This information will be used to create efficient and accurate routes and stops.
The form will ask:
- Please check ONE of these two boxes below regarding bus routes:
- Check this box if you plan to ride on a bus regularly
- Check this box if you DO NOT wish to be on a bus route
- Please verify your current street address or provide an updated address.
Click here to log into your family Aspen account, and select 'Start a new Bus Verification.'
Submitting this information now will help us make sure we have the right number of buses, on the right routes, with the right stops! There is no need to sign up for the bus just in case, if you don’t think you’ll need it. If circumstances change, your student can always be added later.
Please submit your responses as soon as possible, and no later than June 1.
If you have any questions, please contact Monomoy Transportation Coordinator Faith Rushnak at frushnak@monomoy.edu or (617) 848 0568.

10th Grade English Honors classes participate in competition
This year Ms. Hofmann’s 10th Grade English Honors classes participated in the Letters About Literature competition sponsored by the Massachusetts Center for the Book. This reading and writing initiative asks students to write a letter to an author that profoundly impacted their lives. Letters went through three rounds of screening to create sets of finalists, 20 letters in each of the three age-level categories. Judges then identified, from among the finalists, 5 Honors and 5 Honorable Mention letters. Congratulations to Sarah Groves who received Honorable Mention and was invited to the State House where students who received 1st through 3rd place and Honorable Mention in their level will be recognized in person for their outstanding achievement. Payton MacRoberts and Thomas Chasel made it to the semi-finalist round of judging. Accolades to all!
Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month Celebration
In the month of May each year, we dedicate time to honor and recognize the significant contributions of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (AANHPIs) to our collective history. To commemorate this Heritage Month, the Chinese classes embarked on a journey of research, discussion, and reflection.
After thorough exploration and meaningful dialogue, the students took initiative to create informative posters. These posters were strategically placed along the first-floor hallway, between the cafeteria and the library, serving as educational tools to introduce the rich history of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities. Through this process, students gained valuable insights into how the evolving landscape of America has impacted the lives of immigrants and indigenous peoples alike.
As we reflect on the contributions and experiences shared during this Heritage Month celebration, it becomes evident how deeply rooted and diverse our community truly is. The exploration of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander histories has not only enriched our understanding of the past but also fostered a greater appreciation for the multicultural tapestry that shapes our present. We are grateful for the opportunity to come together and honor the richness of our collective heritage.
Animal Welfare Mini-Fair
The MRHS Animal Welfare Club recently hosted an animal welfare mini-fair during Jawsome that taught students about shopping cruelty free, the horror of the fur industry and animals in circuses, adopting instead of shopping, keeping toxins and toxic plants away from animals, and what to do if one finds injured or abandoned wild life.

AP Exams Information
WELCOME TO AP EXAM SEASON!
Here are a few important tips, reminders, and expectations for your exam (s)
Every student who is registered to test is EXPECTED to TEST. Our school is charged $40 per exam if a student decides to “no show” on exam day. Taking the culminating exam is the expectation when a student registers for an AP course.
Exams differ in length but generally will be around three hours (exception for students who have been pre-approved for accommodations)
It is important to eat before your exam and it is logical to “Brown Bag” it on exam day .
AM Exams begin at 8:45. Students report to the exam room for check-in at 8:30.
PM Exams will begin at 12:00pm. Students report to the exam room for check-in at 11:45. Students can eat lunch from 11:45-12 as we check them in. This is why bringing lunch really helps.
Students who are late to the testing room will not be permitted to take their exam. Students must stay in the testing room until the end of the timed exam.
Be sure NOT to schedule any “Jawsomes” on your exam days. Teachers will be asked not to schedule you into “Jawsome”.
There should not be a conflict with athletic events. In the event that you have a match/game on a PM exam day, arrange transportation on your own to the match/game and email kguilmette@monomoy.edu and communicate this with your coach.
Students ARE EXPECTED to attend the full day of school on exam day
Please review the link below for some tips from College Board
