Attention Kindergarten Families:
On Tuesday, August 27, 2024, there will be a Kindergarten Orientation from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. for parents and children. The program will start in the Ferderbar cafeteria, which is accessible through our main entrance. Our program will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a brief presentation on bus safety and expectations, directly followed by a short bus ride around the block to practice what they just learned. Parents will walk their students to the bus area and wait out front for their arrival back to the building. The second part of the orientation, which includes learning about Ferderbar and being introduced to staff members, will begin back in our cafeteria at 10:00 a.m. This orientation will give you and your child the opportunity to visit the classrooms and meet the teachers.
Kindergarten students start school on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. School hours are 8:50 a.m. – 3:35 p.m.
New Family Welcome

Student dismissal begins at 3:35 pm.
Important Reminder- No adults should be getting out of their car at the car drop off line. The staff will help students exit and enter cars. This process will help the line move efficiently.

Student Accident Insurance
THE SCHOOL DISTRICT DOES NOT CARRY MEDICAL INSURANCE FOR STUDENTS
This is a reminder to parents with a child or children attending school in our School District that we do not carry medical insurance on students, but do provide parents with the opportunity to select a primary excess group insurance plan for students. Student accident insurance can help you eliminate the possibility of out-of-pocket expenses, since many group insurance policies no longer pay full hospital and medical expenses and may require a deductible or coinsurance. The information below provides details on three plans that are available.
Volunteer Information
Who needs to obtain volunteer clearances?
Any adult applying for or holding a volunteer position who is responsible for a child's welfare or has direct contact with children during curricular or co-curricular activities needs to obtain volunteer clearances. Examples include classroom volunteers, Home & School activity volunteers, or field trip chaperones.
If you have any questions as to whether a clearance is needed for a particular volunteer role or activity, please contact our main office, 215-809-6370.
Don't Wait!
Act 34 - the Pennsylvania State Police Clearance - can take 2 to 4 weeks to process and Act 151 - the Child Abuse History Clearance - can also take 2 to 4 weeks.
You will NOT be allowed to volunteer or chaperone a school trip unless all appropriate volunteer paperwork is complete and submitted.
Click the link below to access additional information and links for each clearance.
Breakfast and Lunch Menus- School Cafe
Breakfast is free for the 24-25 school year. Students can purchase a second breakfast.
Neshaminy uses School Café for payment. You will need to register at https://schoolcafe.com You can check balances, set balance alerts, set recurring payments etc. A 5% convenience fee will be charged on all online payments.
Payments can also be sent to school by cash, check, or money order. Neshaminy School District will never call your home and ask you for credit card information.
Cash / Change
Change is not given to a student but added to the student's account, since the money could get lost or be spent on something other than their meal. Parents can send a letter requesting change be given.
We recommend using School Café online payments or sending a check for depositing money in your child's account, since we are unable to trace cash transactions.
Food Service Information & Policies
The Food Services department is self-supporting and receives no local taxpayer dollars. This requires that we operate as a profitable business, while providing nutritious and appealing meals to students and staff and following the guidelines of the U. S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the PA Dept. of Education.
What is considered a complete meal?

Vaccination Requirement Reminder
In 2017, Pennsylvania's Department of Health established requirements for school vaccinations. Please review this document from the Pennsylvania Department of Health and consult with your child’s healthcare provider. Communication from the District will continue as a reminder of this PA Department of Health requirement.
District Policy 203 requires that “a certificate of immunization shall be maintained as part of the health record for each student, as required by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.” Further, the Policy states that “a student who has not been immunized per state regulations shall not be admitted to or permitted to attend district schools unless exempted for medical or religious reasons or provisionally admitted by the Superintendent or designee after beginning a multiple dose vaccine series and submitting proof of immunization or a medical certificate on or before the fifth school day of attendance.”
The requirements allow for the following exemptions: medical reason, religious belief, or philosophical/strong moral or ethical conviction. Even if your child is exempt from immunizations, he or she may be excluded from school during a vaccine-preventable disease outbreak.
Communication from the District will continue as a reminder of this PA Department of Health and Policy 203’s requirements. Please contact your child’s School Nurse with questions.
Please see the link below to access district medical forms.
