Principal's Message...
It has been another great week at Spalding Drive! It was so great to see our students jump right back into their routines and to also welcome a few new families to our community. It sounds like everyone had a great couple of weeks off and they are ready for an amazing second semester!
We are excited to have our International Night and Art Showcase in just a few weeks. Please consider signing up to represent a country at this great event. We can't hold the International Night without the support of our incredible families. Please see the information below about how to sign up.
As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns. Please always feel free to reach out to me by email (rosenthall@fultonschools.org).
In Partnership,
Jennifer
CALLING ALL CAREERS!
- February 7th is Career Shadowing Day at school. ALL CAREERS ARE WELCOMED! I need a total of 17 speakers. Also, if you know of a friend with a cool career that you think would like to share with our students, please send them my way!
If you are interested in volunteering to speak about your career, please email me Mr. Stevenson
Speakers will need to arrive at 8:15 am for a brief orientation and light breakfast. You will then talk about your career in the classrooms from 8:30-10:00 am, speaking with three different classes for 30 minutes each. The classes will rotate to you, so if you bring any equipment, you will not have to move it from class to class.
We would love to have parent speakers, so please consider making this investment in our students' lives. Parents will be selected on a first come basis. Thank you in advance for your participation! To sign up, please send Your Name, Phone Number, Email Address and Career/Position to Mr. Stevenson by Friday, January 24th.
Carpool Families...
With the cold temperatures often comes long car lines and reduced staff to assist. Here are some reminders that will help us keep our line moving as efficiently and safely as possible:
- Please remain in car line and do not park to drop or pick students up. Parking in the lot during pick up or drop off is prohibited. The only cars parking should be those families entering the building for school related business. Dropping students off in the parking lot is never allowed.
- Ensure you child is ready to exit the vehicle upon stopping and is not waiting for staff to open their door. Once the line has stopped, the student can exit the vehicle and head to the door where staff is present to assist if needed. If your child can not exit the vehicle without assistance, you may park on the road and bring them up the stairs. Parents should not exit the vehicle to assist children. While we are always happy to help, we also want to be sure that students are becoming independent in their routines at this point in the year.
- Lastly, please remember that our car line ends at 7:40. Please arrive early enough that your student is entering the building before the bell so that they may get breakfast and begin instruction.
