First Week of School 2024-2025
Dear Families,
Thank you for an amazing response and support to Meet the Teacher. We were so happy to meet the children and our families as we begin the 2024-2025 school year!
To our PTO, thank you for your participation with the Spirit Shop, information table and Sweet Treat Truck Truck.
We cannot wait to welcome your children back to school and we look forward to working together to create a positive and enriching learning environment for all.
We want to be sure you have some pertinent information in preparation for the school year. Please be sure to see our FAQ section below for some commonly asked questions and answers.

Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
Are parents permitted to walk their child to class on the first day of school?
Parents of Kindergarten students will be allowed to walk their child to their class on the first day of school. If your are a kinder parent and a walker or biker, please drop off your bike at the racks and then walk to the front door. We know how important it is that you have the opportunity to wish your child well on the first day of school if they are in 1st grade or older. We will have locations at each entrance for you to take a picture with your child and wish them well for the day. Once students enter the building, we will have employees stationed in the hallways to help get your child(ren) to the classroom in hopes to begin classroom instruction as soon as possible. We encourage you to take advantage of Meet the Teacher to view the building, meet the staff and understand the daily procedures of our campus.
How can I see my child's bus schedule?
Bus registration will be completed during Annual Enrollment using the Home Access Center. On August 2, bus information will be available in the SMART tag Parent Portal http://parent.smart-tag.net If no bus information is listed in your student’s profile, InfoFinder http://www.infofinderi.com/ifi/?cid=TI05693839218 will be available for you to enter your child’s physical address for bus information. If bus information is populated, please send a handwritten note to the campus stating, “I’m a bus rider and have not been assigned”. Please include the afternoon bus information found on InfoFinder. The campus staff will give your child a bus slip to use until they have been assigned to a bus. You will be notified by email when your child has been assigned and the bus slip is no longer needed. If your address does not populate bus information, please contact transportation (this occurs when there is not an established stop). It can take up to 10 school days to add a stop location to an existing bus route. Parents will be responsible for transportation during the 10 school days.
Parents of students enrolled in a special program (SLL) and requires the use of a special transportation bus, please contact Janila Usimaki at janilausimaki@tomballisd.net.
Parents of Kindergarten and First-grade students will enter guardian release information using the SMART tag Parent Portal http://parent.smart-tag.net Please list all persons allowed to receive your student at the bus stop, example: older sibling (including those that may ride the same bus), neighbor, or friend, etc.
Students will receive their SMART tags on the first day of school. If your child is new to TISD, it may take up to a week to issue their badge. Remember, students MUST have their student ID to board and deboard the bus. If it is lost or damaged, a new one can be purchased in the front office for $5.
Will parents be able to eat lunch with their children?
Lunch is a part of the instructional day and each lunch lasts 30 minutes. As a fast-growth district with limited space in the cafeteria, it is important for us to establish our procedures and lunch expectations with the students during the first weeks of school. Parents are welcome to come have lunch with their child(ren) starting on Monday, September 23rd. A family lunch schedule will be sent in next week's newsletter.
Parents of students with August and September birthdays are permitted to have lunch with their child(ren) on the day of their birthday while lunch visitors are paused to start the year.
While in the cafeteria, you may eat at the designated tables with your child only. Please remember that photos and video of other students in the cafeteria is prohibited and visitors are limited to 2 visitors per student due to space. All visitors must bring their driver's license with them to campus to check in at the front office, and lunch visitors must be listed as an emergency contact.
How will birthdays be celebrated on campus?
Our students are extremely important to us and we want them to feel celebrated. To ensure the safety of all students, birthday treats must be store bought and sealed in the store bought package. Individually packaged/wrapped treats by the store are preferred. For your convenience, the school cafeteria will have ice cream passes available for purchase as well. If you would like to purchase items from the cafeteria, please contact your child’s teacher ASAP so we can help make arrangements for this purchase prior to arriving at the cafeteria.
How can I get involved with the school?
We believe that parent involvement helps ensure all students are successful. Our Parent Teacher Organization, or PTO is always looking to welcome new members and would love to meet you. There will also be an opportunity to sign up to be a Watch DOG (Dads of Great Students) soon. We also love having volunteers around campus to assist in needed areas including but not limited to lunch/recess monitoring, reading to a class, book shelving, front office support and many other opportunities that make our school operate safely and smoothly.

How can I apply for free and reduced lunch?
Applications can be found and submitted on School Cafe. Breakfast meals are $1.50 per student and lunch meals are $2.75 per student.
School Safety is our most important priority and dismissal is a time of day when all 900+ students and staff are in motion along with buses, bikes, and personal vehicles on campus. In order to guarantee a safe return home for all students in the most efficient way possible, we need your help.
Please have your child be dismissed the way in which they will normally go home, on the the first day/s of school in order to establish routine and help our staff begin learning your child's normal routine. The less change in afternoon transportation, the more efficient our dismissal process.
Review the dismissal options below and familiarize yourself with our procedures. We welcome your feedback and questions. We're in this together!
Please be patient the first two weeks of school; staff are learning student names and students will be learning routines and procedures.
Communicate about dismissal in advance and clearly to your child's teacher.
As much as possible, maintain consistency in dismissal mode. It's very confusing for students and teachers to have one way of dismissing the first couple days and another way to dismiss after that.
Changes in dismissal transportation must be submitted electronically HERE by 3:15pm. Emails and/or notification to teachers will NOT be accepted.
Car Rider
Be sure to watch the video above.
Doors open at 8:25.
Students may not be dropped off in the morning due to safety and security issues.
Car riders remain in their car until a staff member opens the car door.
Our designated SRO, Officer Mulkey, will assist us with arrival time.
Right hand turn only into the parking lot. Please do not turn left from W. New Harmony, and do not let vehicles attempting to turn left in front of you.
Vehicles will form a double line upon entering and then merge to form a single dismissal line at the designated location prior to the curve.
Emergency vehicles require access to enter and exit at all times; do not block visitor parking area entrance/exit.
Twelve vehicles will be loaded at a time starting at the flagpole. The first twelve vehicles everyday will be our fundraiser winners. Please do not prevent them from entering the visitor parking area so they can pass the line of waiting cars and get to their designated spots.
Walker
The gate for walkers is labeled with a yellow figure on the fence.
Doors open at 8:25, please remain at the gate until a staff member arrives to open it.
Students in K-2nd must be escorted by a parent, babysitter, or older sibling in 3rd-5th.
Parents and babysitters must have name placard.
Please form a line as you arrive to speed the process along.
- Do not park on the side of the road to pick up your children. It compromises safety and disrupts the system for other families.
Remember to pick up a placard from your child's teacher at Meet the Teacher.
In the event of inclement weather and your child is a walker or biker, you may submit a transportation change by 3:15pm through the Change of Transportation Form and we will be sure your child makes it to the car or bus rider line.
Biker/Scooter
The gate for bikers is labeled with a green scooter on the fence.
Doors open at 8:25, please remain at the gate until a staff member arrives to open it.
Students in K-2nd must be escorted by a parent, babysitter, or older sibling in 3rd-5th.
Parents and babysitters must have name placard.
Please form a line as you arrive to speed the process along.

- Students are escorted to their respective bus by grade level teachers.

Campus Kids
Hours are 6:30am-6:30pm.
Drop off and pick up at Cafeteria entrance/exit; enter campus off of Wendtwoods.
Vehicles may enter parking lot after 4:20pm.
Do not park in the bus loading zone or pass buses that are loading students.
A Word from Nurse Bennett...
Helpful parent reminders for medication drop off and administration:
If your student has a medical condition requiring the use of medication on campus such as an EpiPen or rescue inhaler, please have your physician complete the required action plan for the current school year.
Parents must sign a medication authorization form for each medication brought to the clinic and each medication must be in the original packaging, not expired, and the appropriate dosage for your student or it will not be accepted.
We do not administer essential oils or homeopathic medication in the clinic.
Prescription medication must be in the original packaging labeled with the student's name and needs to have a medication authorization form completed by the prescribing physician or it will not be accepted.
Medication must be dropped off by a parent or authorized adult. Medications must NEVER be sent with a student to school. This is for safety. Students are NOT permitted to carry their own medication for self administration. All medication must be kept in the clinic with appropriate parent/physician authorization.
It is encouraged for medication to be dropped the week before school starts as the first week of school is very busy. The nurse will also be available during Meet the Teacher on August 8th for medication drop off from 4-5:00pm.
If you are a returning family and your child(ren) has anything that has changed medically, please stop by or call Nurse Bennett.
If your student is new to Creekview and has a medical condition you would like to discuss, please call the clinic to set up a time to speak with the nurse.
