Hello, Longwood Families!
What a special week at Longwood!
We were thrilled to welcome our Guest Student Principal, Miss. W, who did a fabulous job leading with Lion pride. From visiting classrooms and supporting students at recess/lunch she truly stepped into the role with confidence —way to go, Miss. W!
On Friday we had the privilege of cheering on our Class of 2025 graduates as they returned to Longwood. This favorite tradition brings smiles, happy tears, and plenty of high-fives! Once a Lion, always a Lion!
😎 Field Day is Thursday!
Mr. Raya has planned an action-packed day of games, teamwork, and fun. We’re still in need of volunteers to help run the stations. If you’re available, please consider signing up—it’s a great way to support our students and be part of the fun! Sign up to help
❌ Reminder: There is no school on Monday, May 26 in observance of Memorial Day. We hope everyone enjoys the long weekend with family and friends.

Join your child for lunch the last day of school! Our lunch team is planning a beach themed lunch! Hats, towels, and sunglasses are welcome! See invitation below for grade level specific lunch times.

*Reminder: No Fees and No Forms are due until the fall! Fee waiver form will be available on July 1st.
📖 Have a child who will be 3 or 4 by September 1, 2025? Apply for Indian Prairie School District's Pre-school Program! Additional support services such as Speech or Occupational Therapy may be available, too, for students eligible after screening. Fee waivers and financial assistance options are available. Important reminders from the Health Office:
- 🩳 Return Borrowed Clothes & Shoes: If your child borrowed items from the nurse's office, please wash & return as soon as possible.
- 📄 Forms Due by Tuesday, June 3rd:
- Kindergarten: Vision & Dental
- 2nd Grade: Dental
- 💊 Medication Pick Up: Parents/Guardians, please pick up student medications from the health office by the end of the day on Tuesday, June 3rd.
- 🫶 Lending Closet Donations: The nurse's office will gladly take any new or gently used pants, shorts, and shirts. As you are spring cleaning, consider donating these items to school.
As we wrap up the year, there are still a few opportunities for (any) parents to volunteer to help their students:
🎓 Our little Lions are growing up! Sign up to help at the 5th Grade Graduation Party coming up on May 27th. We still need at least one more Dad/male volunteer to chaperone on their field trip and some Skinny Pop donations.
😎 It's getting warmer and time to have some FUN outside! Sign up to help Mr. Raya with Field Day on May 29th. Volunteers are open to active and responsible family members (e.g. grandparents, aunts/uncles, older siblings no longer in school, etc.) - just note on the SignUp and bring ID to the event. Thanks!
