The Board of School Directors approved two changes to the 2021-22 school year calendar which includes an early dismissal for all students on December 23, 2021, and closure of the District on December 27, 2021. No other changes have been made. Student dismissal times for each level will be as follows: HHS - 11:00, HMS - 11:20, and Elementary - 11:50. Specific information regarding Kindergarten will be communicated next week.

The second dose vaccination clinic for children 5 - 11 years of age who received the first dose at the November 20th clinic at Lynnewood Elementary School is scheduled for Saturday, December 11th. Springfield Pharmacy scheduled your child’s second dose at the same time you registered for the first dose.

On Thursday, December 2nd, the School Board of Directors and Dr. Maureen Reusche recognized our Haverford High School National Merit Semi-Finalists and Commended Scholars, and our outgoing Board Members.

Online Registration for Kindergarten and grades 1 - 12 for the 2022-2023 school year will begin on Monday, January 10th at 7:00 PM.

All registrations are now being completed online. Please check our website for registration information. To register, a new student must be:

• A resident of the School District of Haverford Township (proof of residency is required)
• Five (5) years of age before September 1st of the school term for kindergarten
• Six (6) years of age before September 1st of the school term for 1st grade

If you are registering a kindergarten or 1st grader, within 14 calendar days of completion of the online portion of the registration process you will receive an email from a School District of Haverford Township representative with information about the next steps to complete your child’s registration. Families who are registering students for grades 2 - 12 for the upcoming school year will be contacted in early March.

The School Board of Directors and Central Administration served breakfast to our Maintenance and Transportation Departments to express their appreciation to the teams for their dedicated service to our school community.

The District 12 of Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) is pleased to announce the selected musicians for the 2021-22 District 12-Level Band, Choir, and Orchestra from Haverford High School. The participants who are awarded places in the PMEA District 12 Ensembles were selected for their outstanding musicianship during a virtual audition process. Students received a score and additional commentary provided by area District 12 Music Educators. The top students from District 12 will be eligible to submit a recording to be considered for the All-State event to be hosted in April.

On November 30th, 85 Haverford High School juniors and seniors were inducted into the National Business Honor Society.

Business Education plays a prominent role in preparing students to become responsible citizens, capable of making economic decisions that will benefit their personal and professional lives. It is our goal that each student achieves business, financial, economic, and digital literacy.

The Business Department of Haverford High School is dedicated to preparing students for a rapidly changing world by expanding each student’s knowledge and skills in business and communication. We believe this curriculum prepares our students for enthusiastic participation in a global economy—fostering success in one’s personal life, college study, and career choice.

Additionally, we incorporate professionalism, problem-solving, team building, and communication skills, as guided by the National and State Business Education Standards.

Criteria for the National Business Honor Society

★ Junior and Senior Class Year

★ 3 or more business classes completed with an overall 3.5 or higher GPA in those courses

★ 3.0 GPA overall

★ Demonstrated Lifestyle of the Cornerstones: Leadership, Scholarship, Service & Ethics

The high school Diaper Dry've collected 13,475 diapers during its annual fundraiser. Diapers were donated to local families in need and the bus was stuffed to deliver the remaining diapers to Cradles to Crayons in Philadelphia. Thank you to everyone in the community who donated diapers or funds to purchase diapers. We surpassed last year's donation by 4,000 diapers!

Please join us to enjoy the sounds of the season at the High School Winter Instrumental Concert on December 15th at 7:00 PM and the High School Winter Choral Concert on December 21st at 7:00 PM. Both events will be in person at the High School Auditorium.

Haverford Middle School's 7th Heaven made it to the semifinals for the B101 Christmas Choir Competition. Although they did not advance - they are winners in our hearts!
