This Administrator Training Workshop satisfies the Act 20 requirements for Principals and Reading Specialists. This training will help leaders understand the importance of
evidence-aligned, systematic, structured literacy aligned with the National Reading Panel Report and the research by the Institute of Education Sciences.
This 6-day training will include a substantial focus and understanding of systems and structures of a comprehensive reading program, as well as, explicit and direct instruction. Participants will explore activities that effectuate change in the school or school district and will develop structures to support and guide teachers in effective literacy instruction.
Learning Outcomes:
- Participants will have an understanding of Act 20 and effective change models.
- Participants will learn supports in implementing EMLSS systems, build a culture of reading, and implement Science of Reading Based Literacy
- Participants will examine systems of assessments and processes for continuous improvement using data.
- Participants will learn high-impact instructional strategies and build crosswalks with Educator Effectiveness.
This workshop is offered at no additional cost to those districts participating in Universal School Improvement (LS1) Services including: Abbotsford, Bloomer, Chippewa Falls, Colby, Eau Claire, Flambeau, Gilman, Gilmanton, Granton, Greenwood, Ladysmith, Lake Holcombe, Loyal, Mondovi, Neillsville, New Auburn, Owen-Withee, Spencer, and Thorp.
For all other participants, the cost is $2000/person.
