Truth and Reconciliation
Truth and Reconciliation
Next week, our CISVA schools will continue on their journey towards universal brotherhood with our Indigenous brothers and sisters. As we approach our National Day for Truth and Reconciliation we remember the words of our Holy Father:
“In a fraternal spirit, I encourage the Bishops and the Catholic community to continue taking steps towards the transparent search for truth and to foster healing and reconciliation. These steps are part of a journey that can favour the rediscovery and revitalization of your culture, while helping the Church to grow in love, respect and specific attention to your authentic traditions.” His Holiness Pope Francis, April 1st 2022.
The students and staff will be working together on a number of activities throughout the week to learn more about our Indigenous peoples and their traditions. We pray that through God’s grace, we can continue to grow in Christ’s love as one family in Christ. There will be no school on Monday, September 30th for our National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

O Glorious St. Matthew,
in your Gospel you portray Jesus
as the longed-for Messiah
who fulfilled the Prophets
of the Old Covenant and
as the Lawgiver who founded
a Church of the New Covenant.
Obtain for us the grace to see
Jesus living in His Church and
to follow His teaching in our lives
on Earth so that we may live forever
with Him in heaven.
Amen.
