Welcome to Piper Early Childhood Center!
Piper Early Childhood Families,
This week has been busy with lots of learning, play, and practicing our emergency drills. We held our first tornado and fire drill this week with success! The next drills on our calendar for October are the safety Lockout drill on October 2nd and fire drills on October 21st. The lockout drill is one of our three intruder drills. This drill is where classrooms conduct business as usual, stay in the classroom, and secure their door. Our security officer Jeff Miskec helps conduct our drills. We appreciate the safety and security expertise he provides. Please read and RSVP to a district parent safety event below on October 10th. Have a great weekend!

Note from Miss Brooke
When your child is absent, please make sure to email your child's teacher and CC or include brooke.fenton@piperschools as well. This ensures that the office has record of your child's absence.
Tuition Information
October tuition has been added to accounts in Skyward for those that are ready to pay. Please go to your account and remit payment. Tuition is always due the 1st of each month. Per the family handbook, fees are accrued regardless of a child’s absences. Failure to pay fees due by the end of the month will lead to your child being dismissed from the program. Late fee reminder letters will go home on the 15th of each month.
Thank you!
From Nurse Rachel
If your student is missing important health information such as health assessments, immunization records, or medication administration forms, I have sent you an email. The deadline to submit health assessments and immunization records is September 30, 2024. In order to avoid disruption in attendance, please provide this information as soon as possible and no later than September 30, 2024.
Hearing and vision screenings will begin Monday August 26, 2024. This may take several weeks to complete. August is children's eye health awareness month, so this is the perfect time to start those vision screenings. Parent's/guardian's will receive a letter home only if your student did not pass the screening. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your student's results, please feel free to contact me.
Potty training: Please note there is a 6 week grace period (October 4th) for potty training in the 3 year old program. Please let your teacher and the nurse know if your student is experiencing difficulties in potty training so that we can be more aware of their needs.
New health diagnosis? Please always make sure the nurse is aware of any new health concerns with your student.
As always, if you are concerned regarding illness or unsure if your student should be at school before, during, or after a particular illness, please contact the school nurse for guidance.

Piper Early Childhood Center
We are super excited for our upcoming Touch a Truck event! Piper ECC will be taking a field trip to Piper Prairie to explore, climb, and enjoy various big trucks and other vehicles.
Parents- you are invited to attend, just meet us at Piper Prairie's parking lot. BUT...before the day of the event, come inside the ECC office to run your I.D. through our Raptor system so we can print a badge and have it ready for you the day of the event. IF you can't come ahead of time, we will raptor you at the event, but the lines could be long.
Students will arrive and depart on the bus for this field trip. Students will not be allowed to leave the event with parents.
Parent /Teacher Conferences
We will host our parent and teacher conferences October 30th and 31st. Your child will be reaching out to you to sign-up for a time to meet. We truly value the collaboration and time spent with parents sharing progress about your child.
Arrival/Dismissal and traffic
Our car loop is becoming more efficient every day. PLEASE be mindful when you are waiting in a line in the neighborhood not to block ANY driveways. Thank you for pulling up to the buckle zone to buckle your child in.
Breakfast order form
The breakfast link is up and running, so just click and order by Sunday night each week, or you can order for the year!
Lunch information
Students do not need to order lunch prior to each day. Teachers will ask students each day if they'd like a school lunch.
If your child is bringing a lunch from home, please make sure you have an ice pack in their lunch box, as we do not refrigerate items for students.
