In 7th Grade Tech Ed, students finished their Pixlr Photo editing Unit. Over the month of February, students learned, practiced and applied at least 15 professional photo editing techniques, which were then used to create one culminating project of their choice. Congratulations to the 35 students who earned a Talley Pixlr Photo Editing Certificate for 100% completion of the 11 photo editing projects.

Talley Academic Support
Note: There will be no tutoring the week of March 9th due to Spring Sports Tryouts
We are proudly offering Talley Academic Support for core subjects after school. This opportunity is meant to provide time for students to make up missing assignments, re-take assignments (including tests, quizzes, etc.), and get extra practice/help as assigned by their teachers. Parents/guardians see below for how to register you child as well as what expectations we have during this time for those attending. Students do not need to attend each week but are encouraged to do so as needed. Students will be reminded via Schoology message each day if they were signed up for tutoring and where that will take place.

Talley Updates
Convoy of Hope: Until Friday, March 21
We have added a bit of excitement to our California Wildfire donation plan!
We are hoping to bump up the enthusiasm with some friendly competition. Each of our ELA classes will work to bring in the MOST donated items. At the end of the competition, the class with the most donations will earn a free pizza party! One item = One Point. Here is a complete list of requested items.
Thank you so much for your help in making this initiative successful! We appreciate everyone who has already done so much by sending in donations with their students. We will make sure to give those ELA classes their earned points. If you sent in something via amazon, let the grade level counselor know so that we can award points for those items as well!
Our initiative will conclude on Friday, March 21st.
We are hoping to spend the next few weeks showcasing how caring and thoughtful our Talley community is! Talley is joining forces with Convoy of Hope, a charity assisting families who lost their homes and personal belongings in the Los Angeles wildfires. Instead of simple monetary donations, Convoy of Hope helps create “kits” filled with necessities to help during this awful time.
Talley has elected to collect items for two specific convoy kits. We will be gathering items for their Family Hygiene Kits and Children’s Activity Kits. Each kit is very specific to the number and size of items, to capitalize on how quickly they can be distributed once put together.
Please visit this link to learn what items we are hoping to collect. Additionally, there is an amazon wish list available for anyone who would rather place an order versus sending items in with your student(s).
For anyone who prefers to make a monetary donation (towards items in the kits), Mr. Lawson has been encouraged 😉 to allow students to throw a plate of shaving cream at his face for a $1 a throw! The counselors will be collecting monetary donations during lunches, and there will be large bins in the main lobby ready for any donated items.
We already KNOW our Talley community has heart. Now, let’s SHOW it by creating these blessings and making a difference.
Chromebooks
A gentle reminder to students that Chromebooks
- are not be brought to and used during the lunch period in the cafeteria;
- are not to be carried around in a position to be viewed/accessed during hall changes;
- are to be kept safe in a backpack that is not thrown on the ground/tossed around.
Students are to report lost Chromebooks and/or Chromebook issues to Dr. Abernethy in 154 or Mrs. Selby in the library as soon as possible.
We are seeing an increased number of Chromebook breakages and issues due to issues above. Students will be charged for damaged Chromebooks, per the BSD Technology agreement.
