Attendance & Tardy Reminders
Students are expected to be in school every period, every day!
If absent, parent notes must be entered through Skyward and medical notes need to be emailed to your child’s attendance clerk. Parents have 5 days upon return of the absence to submit a parent and/or medical note.
Students late to class over the 15 minute mark (for each period) will be marked absent.
If a student arrives late to school, they must sign in at the attendance office before going to class. If a student needs an early dismissal, the parent must notify the attendance office through Skyward prior to the early dismissal. Students must sign out at the attendance office prior to leaving school.
- If your student accrues 6 absences, you will be contacted by an AP to sign and complete an attendance plan to make sure they stay on the right path and do not lose credit for classes. Additional absences may be referred to Truancy for denial of credit.
Dress Code Reminders
Please note the dress code priorities for the 24-25 school year. More detailed information, including additional dress code guidelines, can be found within the Klein ISD Student Handbook.
Students may not wear suggestive or inappropriately located decorative patches, insignia, or clothing with improper advertising, pictures, slogans, or statements.
Appropriate footwear is required. House shoes/slippers are not allowed.
Any attire or accessory, including blankets, that are distracting, disruptive, or disturbing will not be permitted on school property. This includes outfits that are too short, too revealing, low-cut, see-through, or backless. Underwear-styled garments should not be worn as outerwear.
Sunglasses, hats, hoodies, and head coverings may not be worn inside the building.
If the principal determines that a student’s grooming or clothing violates the school’s dress code, the student will be given an opportunity to correct the problem at school and return to the classroom. If the problem cannot be corrected at school, the principal will work with the student and parent to obtain an acceptable change of clothing for the student in a way that minimizes loss of instructional time. Repeated or severe offenses may result in more serious disciplinary action in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
Student ID Badges
All students are required to wear their school-issued ID on a lanyard at all times while in the building. If they do not have their ID, a temporary ID will be issued to them and $1 will be charged to their School Cash account. Their ID will play a vital part in their every day life at Klein High School. Thank you in advance for ensuring your student has their ID on before they leave the house every day!
Cell Phone Use
Students may have access to their cell phones/Bluetooth devices during the passing periods, but they must put them away upon entry into the classroom. Instructional periods are “phone-free zones”. Cell phone referrals are written for those who choose not to comply.
