MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

As we get closer to the end of the year, it is easy for students to lose focus on academics and look forward to time off. Please help us ensure your child finishes strong. Looking at Canvas and Synergy are great ways to ensure students are making it to class on time and turning work in. If you are hearing that everything is fine, yet grades or attendance do not match that narrative, please email teachers for confirmation on what is actually happening in class.

We just finalized our 2nd week of OSAS testing and are back to normal schedules. We do have a handful of students who still need to complete their assessments, but we are close to finishing as a school. We have one final round of iReady assessments still to come, and students can continue to work on My Path iReady lessons both in school and at home as they work to improve their learning and scores.

Our mindset within the Fowler community is that our school is a safe and affirming place for all students. With that as a guiding principle, it is important that each student, and community member, use safe, school appropriate language when we are on campus together. The use of any harmful/hateful language has no place here. Thank you for making our school community as strong as possible.

Quarter 3 Report Cards are available on ParentVue:

We do not mail report cards home. Please sign into either ParentVue or StudentVue. You may access them under the “Documents” tab. It will be the document at the top and will be labeled Quarter 3 Report Card (23-24).

We have our first ASA Jamboree this week! The Soccer ASA will travel to Twality Middle School to compete with them. The Jamboree is scheduled from 3:30-5:00pm. Parents are welcome to take their student home IF they check them out with the coach prior to leaving. The bus will return to Fowler by 5:30pm. Students WILL need a ride home if they return to the school.

The ASA Running Club is competing in the Lake Run 5K Race in Lake Owego this Saturday, May 4. Go Falcons!

AND WE NEED OUR FAMILY AND STUDENT’S HELP!

Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6-10. We want to provide an avenue for families and students to recognize teachers. Please complete this google form in order to recognize teachers with a Fowler Fist Bump(s). We’re turning the table and letting them be the givers instead of receivers! We will give them to the teachers on Friday, May 10. Will you please help us and encourage your child to check their email and participate? We appreciate your help and are hopeful that students will have fun recognizing their teachers!

The 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony is June 12! We look forward to celebrating our 8th graders moving on to High School. We will host this Celebration at Tigard High School from 6-7pm on Wednesday, June 12. Parents and guardians are welcome to attend this Celebration, we do ask that you limit attendees to immediate family members.

As part of this celebration:

We would love to get a picture of your student as a younger version of themselves.
There will be a slideshow for the 8th Grade Celebration, and we would like to be able to include both a current photo and a young photo of each student.
If you would like to submit a current picture for us to use other than their school photo, because so many of them have changed significantly since the beginning of the year, you are welcome to do so. We would prefer not to use “selfies” for the slideshow.
Please send pictures to fowleroffice@ttsd.k12.or.us along with your students full name and/or ID number.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the PSO Silent Auction! When all is said and done it looks like we will have taken in about $4,300! That will go a long way in supporting Fowler both in the incentives they provide for students and the 8th Grade Trip.

Help us celebrate our AMAZING Fowler staff during Teacher Appreciation Week! PSO is hosting a Taco Bar lunch on May 8th and would love your help! Please have all donated items to the Fowler office by Tuesday, May 7th at 4pm.

The next PSO Meeting is this Wednesday, May 1, 2024. Please consider whether or not you are able to step in and serve as one of PSO officers. As is typical this time of year, we have several people moving on with their 8th graders, and we need to fill some slots with people who are able and willing to serve. We hope to see you at the meeting at 6:00pm in the Fowler Library!
