Second grade visited the Sheldrake Environmental Center for a hands-on field experience.
Kindergarten inspired by their Emelin Theater field trip drew their own Mo Willems drawings.
We woke up the DW Peace Garden on Thursday! Thank you to Emily Durand and all of our volunteers. It was especially fun to plant the seedlings that our Noon Pursuits Garden Club started for us.
Snaps- Poetry Appreciation!
Our Poetry on the Patio was a sweet event where students enjoyed poetry as part of our culmination of April's Poetry Month. We have three classes remaining this Monday. Thank you Ms. Kowalchick!
Notes & Reminders
DW 2025-26 Parent Class Placement Input Form- LAST CALL
During the month of May, we will begin the process of class placement for next year. We take great care in this process to ensure that each class is well balanced. Our goal is to provide your child with the best possible academic, social, and emotional environment to promote an optimal learning experience.
The teachers and I meet for many sessions, as we compose classes. We know your children well, their friendships, and the teaching styles of our faculty. When constructing a classroom, we look at many different factors including learning abilities, peer relationships, class size, strengths, challenges, diversity, as well as other factors, to create classrooms that foster social and academic development for all children. As in the past, all classes will be heterogeneous, meaning they will reflect various abilities.
As in the past, we only accept feedback regarding a specific teacher if a sibling has had that teacher in the past. Please understand that you cannot request specific teachers, as it would be inequitable. If there is information you would like us to consider, please complete this form no later than May 9th. We value the importance of this process, and work very thoughtfully to compose our classes each year.
If your child will not be returning to Rye Neck Schools in September, please notify Deb Hutchinson, dhutchinson@ryeneck.org, if you have not already done so.
