Can you believe that we are just a few school days from wrapping up 2024?

With just five days left before break as well as the end of the 2nd quarter, I would encourage all parents to check PowerSchool one more time and have a conversation with your student about their current marks. We are proud of the work our staff and students have compiled in 2024 and look for great things in the upcoming new year.

Also, be sure to note the events from our student council to include a Holiday Dance with DJ Matt Ryan tonight from 6PM-8PM and then a Spirit Day next Friday.

• The first WIN Day of BWMS is Today Friday 12/13/24. These are called "What I Need" Days because students have the choice of a number of activities to participate in for the last 60 minutes of school. The purpose of WIN Days is to build and maintain a positive climate and supportive relationships at BWMS. Ask your student how it went.
• BWMS will have a Winter Dance on Friday 12/13/24. Sponsored by our Student Council, this event is from 6-8 and available to all 6th-8th students that attend BWMS. Cost is $5 at the door. We will again ask parents to follow the same student pick up guidelines below by parking in the assigned grade-specific lot. Thank you for your assistance with this procedure.
• Please have your student check the lost and found within our school cafeteria, it is getting rather large.
• Attention 6th grade families - The deadline to register and Pay for the Outdoor Education trip is Friday 12/13/24. Please see the details in an email sent to your account.
• STAR reports will be mailed home before break.
• The BWMS Winter Musical performance will be in the middle school Auditorium on Monday 12/16/24 starting at 7 PM. Come see their original production in action.
• End of the 2nd Quarter is Friday 12/20/24 with winter break from 12/21/24 through 1/3/25.
• Students return from winter break on Monday 1/6/25.
• Attention 8th grade families - Registration for the D.C. trip will NOT be accepted after December 31, 2023 (no exceptions). Please see the DC Packet here.

BWMS will be emailing home the Eagle Profile Reports in the coming days. Specifically, our school continues to highlight the areas of the Eagle Profile listed below and strives to provide ongoing feedback to students about how to increase in these targeted areas with projects, activities and assessments. As we come to the end of the 1st semester, students and families will receive feedback (1-rarely, 2-sometimes, or 3-almost always) for each component in hopes that we can continue to help our students grow not just in academics, but these very important skills for life.

• Collaborator: Works respectfully with diverse teams to accomplish commons goals.
• Communicator: Listens actively and articulates thoughts effectively to a variety of audiences.

Please take a look at the Free Winter Wellness Workshops available to support families in Delaware County from Syntero.

Over winter break, Syntero will be facilitating Winter Wellness groups on December 23rd and 30th. The middle school group would be taking place from 2pm-3pm. While the student will be in a group, parents are invited to attend a parent workshop at the same location and time (this is optional for the parent).
