Greetins LTUSD friends and families,
This is such an exciting time of year when we come together to celebrate student success and recognize the incredible individuals who contribute to our community! From dedicated staff members to generous donors, everyone plays a vital role in making LTUSD thrive.
On Wednesday, May 1, 2024, the Boys and Girls Club hosted the 2nd Annual Bright Futures Awards. The evening was filled with excitement as students were celebrated, amazing staff was acknowledged, volunteers were applauded, and gratitude was expressed to generous donors. Our partnership with the Boys and Girls Club’s is invaluable, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone at the Boys and Girls Club.
This week, we’re also celebrating Staff Appreciation Week. Our hardworking staff members deserve recognition for their unwavering commitment to our students’ growth and well-being. Join us as we honor their dedication and passion.

Great things happened during the April 25, 2024, School Board meeting!
Students from Elevated Digital Learning Academy (EDLA) presented about their positive learning experiences at EDLA. May 7: Facility Master Plan Poster Viewing!
Join us on Tuesday, May 7 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the District Office for an opportunity to view the Facilities Master Plan draft before the LTUSD Board discusses the revised plan during the May 9, 2024, School Board Meeting.

May 16: 🌟 Hall of Distinction Inductees and Celebration of Education🌟
Mark your calendars! On May 16, 2024, we’ll be celebrating education and the induction of remarkable individuals into the Hall of Distinction. This prestigious honor recognizes outstanding contributions to our community and educational excellence. There will be a formal induction ceremony at the LTUSD Boardroom at 4:30 p.m. followed by the Lake Tahoe Education Foundation Celebration of Education event which is featured in the flyer to the right. May 21: Community Conversation about Artificial Intelligence

Join the Grad Night Team and help create a wonderful graduation night for all LTUSD graduating seniors!

Please sign up to volunteer for a shift at the Sober Grad Night Friday June 14 at Cal Base Lodge. You can also volunteer for decorating the lodge the week before. Underclassmen parents PLEASE sign up for clean-up so the parents of the graduates can relax! REMEMBER, NO senior parents or direct relatives of seniors can work the night of the event! Senior parents and direct relatives of seniors CAN decorate beforehand! Please respect the independence of our graduating seniors and let them enjoy this great event! Junior parents are strongly encouraged to sign up for June 15 clean-up. This will be your child's event next year, so let's support this year's senior parents and let them rest and enjoy graduation weekend! You don't need to have a student at STHS but you must be 18 years old to volunteer. Please, no children allowed at the Cal Base Lodge during decorating.

A huge thank you to the The Kiwanis AKTION Club!
The Kiwanis AKTION CLUB spent a day cleaning up at the South Tahoe Middle School Track and Field. AKTION CLUB members voted to come back in the summer and get the Track and Field ready for school in the fall.

May 11: Son plus One Spring Fling Event
Dress to impress and join us for a memorable evening of love, laughter, and dancing with your little man at the Spring Fling Dance on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at Bally's Lake Tahoe. Dance along to the DJs upbeat tunes, capture heartwarming moments in the photo booth, enjoy refreshments and desserts throughout the evening, and enjoy a game of ping-pong, basketball, cornhole and more!

May 15: TAP Fundraiser at Bert's
Bert’s Café will host the annual spaghetti night fundraiser for Tahoe Arts Project on Wednesday May15, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Guests can enjoy a meal including spaghetti (with a vegetarian option), Caesar salad, garlic bread, soda, and coffee for just $15. July 6: TAP Beauty and the Beast Jr. Summer Theater
Tahoe Arts Project with Tahoe Valley Performing Arts presents Beauty and the Beast Jr. Summer Theater Camp for kids entering 1st - 9th grade. Auditions on June 21st. Rehearsals from June 22 to July 5. Performances on July 6th at Tahoe Valley Elementary Thunderbird Theater. Cost is $100. For more information email tahoearts@gmail.com. City of South Lake Tahoe is looking for your ideas on programing for the new Rec Center!
Please take a moment to share your preferences regarding what type of programs you would like to see offered in the new Multigenerational Recreation & Swim Complex. This state-of-the-art center is scheduled to open its doors in 2026, and we are eager to gather community input regarding the recreational activities that matter most to you.
The survey will be accessible until May 13th. Your input is invaluable to the City of South Lake Tahoe (SLT) as they strive to create a facility that caters to the diverse needs and interests of our community members. South Tahoe Futbol Club Tryouts
South Tahoe Futbol Club, the highest level of competitive soccer in South Lake Tahoe, is holding its annual tryouts this spring at Lake Tahoe Community College. The club is forming new teams in the 2016 boys and 2015 girls age groups, and are actively looking for players in all age groups on the attached flyer.

St. Theresa’s B&B 4 Kids’ contiues their B&B 4 Kids’ School Year Weekend Food Bag program. The weekend food bags are distributed every Friday to all schools in the LTUSD. Each bag contains seven single-serving, kid-friendly meals (2 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 3 dinners), fresh fruit and protein enriched snacks to supplement weekend nourishment.
In addition, B&B 4 Kids’ School Healthy Snack program will be providing boxes of protein bars to each school to distribute to children who may become hungry during the school day. B&B 4 Kids provides over 500 nutrition bars to the schools on a weekly basis in order to meet the demand of children needing supplemental food during the school day.
Parents interested in determining eligibility for their child to receive these B&B 4 Kids weekend food bags can contact their child’s school office for an application form or click on the picture for the application and turn it into their school office.
Congress created the Affordable Connectivity Program, a new long-term, $14 billion program, to help ensure we can afford the connections we need for work, school, health care and more for a long time.
Home Energy Assistance Program helps income-eligible households pay their energy bill or heating fuel provider. Eligible homeowners or renters may qualify to have a specific payment amount credited to their electric utility account or receive financial assistance in obtaining firewood, propane, pellets or heating oil. Priority is given to the elderly, disabled and families with children under age 5.
