Garner Yearly Weekly 9/7 - 9/13
Mission: Students First
The Garner Way !
Dear Garner Parents and Family,
I want to take a moment to shine a light on the incredible people who made this past week such a success, despite the challenges we faced. As many of you know, we experienced a power outage when a transformer was hit, causing an unexpected disruption for part of the day. However, I am proud to say that our Garner community rose to the occasion with remarkable spirit and teamwork!
First, a huge shoutout to our Garner cafeteria staff! Even without power, they managed to get hot meals out to our students on time. This amazing group feeds us daily with a smile, even when faced with unexpected obstacles. Their creativity and dedication are truly commendable!
Our teachers also took this opportunity to shine. With the extended time in a few classes, they used this challenge to build stronger relationships and foster a sense of community among our students. Thank you to all the teachers and staff for their unwavering commitment to our students' growth and well-being!
Of course, none of this would be possible without your amazing children. Our students handled the situation with maturity and grace, from the cafeteria to following directions during dismissal. I am extremely proud of how they thrived under these conditions.
I also want to recognize the Garner Leadership team, who worked tirelessly to monitor students, provide breaks for teachers, and maintain a positive spirit while we waited for the power to be restored. Our school spirit and commitment to excellence were in full effect last Tuesday, and I am incredibly proud to be a part of this special campus.
Looking ahead, please mark your calendars for our next campus event! The 2024-25 Greenback Night will be held on Tuesday, September 10th, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. We look forward to welcoming all our families for "Meet The Teacher Night." Please see the attached flyer for more details.
Finally, I want to challenge our parents and students to strive for excellent attendance for the remainder of this six-week period. I understand that appointments are sometimes necessary, but if you can schedule them for the late afternoon, it will help minimize the loss of valuable learning time. Every moment in the classroom counts, and consistent attendance helps ensure that our students stay on track.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at 210-356-3800.
Wishing you all an amazing weekend and as always, Go Yearlings!
Warm regards,
Ms. Monet, Principal
