Please join me tomorrow, Friday, October 11, 2024 at 7:00 pm as we cheer on the Green Wave football team against Mahar Regional! I will be in the end zone at 6:30 pm. YOUR PRESENCE IS POWERFUL!
Addressing chronic absence is a key component of improving graduation rates, increasing academic achievement and giving young people the best chance at success in their adult life. Join us in reminding all of our students that their presence is powerful! Being present each and every day at school matters!
October is SelfAwareness Month
Greenfield Public Schools' October focus on social and emotional learning is Self-Awareness. One of the key components of self-awareness is mindfulness. Mindfulness is paying attention on purpose to the present moment. Help us model for students how to intentionally choose to focus our attention on what is happening in the moment and enjoy being present.

Music to Our Ears!
Greenfield Public Schools welcomed three new music teachers this year, Eli Litwin, Rachel Hertz, and Hannah Cherry. They join Sara Paige to round out the GPS Music Department. We are excited to have all of them on board. Ms. Paige and Mr. Litwin engage our youngest learners in grades K-4 in general music. Mx. Hertz has launched the 4th grade instrument lessons and bands at each elementary school where we have over 70 fourth grade students participating. Ms. Cherry took over the middle and high school band program and has brought her energy and excitement to both buildings' programs. We look forward to the continued growth in the music program.

Notes from the District Nurse Leader
School Dental Program
We had a huge response for dental program participation from parents/guardians this year. Nurse Leader, Melissa Bednarski, is thrilled to announce that over 250 GPS students have signed up to receive dental care from the CHCFC School Dental Program. As dental health issues are one of the main reasons for student absences, we are so proud to be able to support this program and provide students with access to dental care.
