I hope that you had a wonderful week! Below, you will find our upcoming school events and announcement for the coming week of learning. Hoot Hoot and have an owlsome weekend ahead!!!!
Upcoming School Announcements, Reminders, and Events
- Course Scheduling at RVA: Our RVA School Counselor will be connecting virtually with select classes in elementary, middle, and high school to discuss course selection for the 24-25 school year. For more information about the course scheduling process or exact dates and times for your child's class, you may contact our school counselor, Dr. Benn (cbenn4@rvaschools.net), or your child's teacher(s) directly.
Week of February 17th- Rising 6th graders
Week of March 3rd- Rising Seniors & Juniors
Week of March 10th- Rising Sophomores & Freshmen
Week of March 20 – Rising 7th Graders
Week of March 27 – Rising 8th Graders
Week of April 10 – Final schedule adjustments
- Upcoming Assessments: Please click here to check our school calendar for upcoming mandatory standardized assessments (and other school events). For more information about mandatory standardized assessments, check in directly with your child's teachers:)
- March 24th-28th RVA's Scholastic Book Fair event will take place at our RVA location at Henderson Middle School. Please review the letters and flyers embedded in this newsletter below. Also, please note that the ewallet, credit cards, and debit cards are accepted; however, there are no cash or check payment options. And all scholars that attend will each receive one $15 voucher towards books of their choice! We hope to see you there!
- April 17th: RVA Virtual Parent Teacher Conferences Join us from 3-5pm for an afternoon of virtual parent-teacher conferences. Please sign up for conference times directly with your child's teacher(s).
- April 25, 2025—RVA/Boys and Girls Club Experience #2: Located at 2409 Bainbridge St, Richmond, VA 23225, USA from 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM, followed by the exciting Cal Ripken Jr. Sports Camp! It’s going to be a blast, packed with fun and sports action! ️. Sign up now to be part of the action and create unforgettable memories! Let’s do this! March Parent Parliament: Reading Strategies at Home!
The Richmond Squirrels Visit RVA Owls!
On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, Richmond Virtual Academy hosted its first annual Meet & Greet event at the Ginter Park Library with Nutzy from the Richmond Squirrels:). Nutzy shared his very own story book and gave all scholars in attendance a challenge to read 8 books, fill in the 8 baseballs on the bookmark, and turn it in for a free ticket to a Richmond Squirrels baseball game. The event was held virtually in our Family Tree as well! Contact your child's teacher for more information about this exciting program and/or to receive your digital bookmark to use for the challenge! Happy Reading!!!

Keep your cameras on and find out who will be the next RVA Caught on Camera Contest Winner by checking for the celebrity snapshot each week in the newsletter. We are owlways looking for the next Caught on Camera Celebrities! If your class wins the challenge, it's time to plan a fun celebration with your classmates and teacher! Classroom teachers may select from a list of fun and creative activities and incentives to celebrate the class's celebrity status for the week!
