Kindly be reminded of your professional obligation to carefully review the staff newsletter and promptly address any tasks embedded within.
All-staff Email Etiquette & Guidance
Moving forward, when sending emails to ALL staff, please remember to enter your email address in the 'To' field and '0113-All Staff' in the BCC line. SGT Approved Safety Plan
As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment for everyone, it’s time for our yearly review of the Safety Plan. This review is crucial to ensure that we are up-to-date with the latest safety protocols and any necessary improvements are identified and implemented.
Please take the time to carefully review the plan. We want to make sure that we are all prepared for any emergencies and that the safety of our staff and those we serve remains our top priority.
If you have any questions or require clarification on any part of the Safety Plan, feel free to reach out.
Discipline and Classroom Management
All Franklin Staff is responsible for establishing and maintaining a suitable learning environment and community where all students are safe and can learn. PLesae share your Class Behavior Expectations with your families, communicating information about classroom rules and procedures.
When an Issue Arises In the Classroom
Franklin Teachers & Support Staff are expected to employ the Class Behavior Expectations which will include the use of various strategies and techniques to resolve the problem.
If the problem continues, Franklin Teachers are expected to contact the parent/guardian and collaborate on a plan to support the child. A parent conference may be requested.
If the problem persists, you may involve the counselor or principal for support.
Parent conference meetings should be scheduled as needed and may include various team members.
A Level 1 behavior is one which requires low level interventions that will be provided by the classroom teacher or support staff. Behaviors are typically addressed at the time that they occur, and do not require documentation in PowerSchool. Classroom Behavior Documentation and parent/guardian communication by a certificated staff member involved in the event is recommended.
When a student is not exhibiting the desired Behavior Expectations, teachers will employ any or all of the following:
Communicate with Parents
Conduct an Empathy Interview
Correction techniques:
Prompt, Redirect, Reteach & Provide choice
Mindfulness strategies or Leader In Me curriculum
Restorative conferencing
Seat change
Student and parent conferencing
Individual reflective time
Reflection Journaling
Speaking to an a trusted adult
Collaborative brainstorm of alternative solutions

Elementary Physical Education Minutes
Thank you for your attention to this important matter. Best regards, Physical Education Department
Extended Learning Opportunities: PrimeTime Academic Support
The Extended Learning Opportunities Department is expanding and offering new academic options for your PrimeTime Program. The PrimeTime Academic Support Workbook was created to assist us in designing an instructional support program within our PrimeTime funding allocation. Please note, these funds are restricted and allocated to serve current students attending PrimeTime at your school site.
Our Franklin site Governance Team will soon vote on which program our staff feels is most beneificial. Most academic programs require a site credentialed teachers (paid position) to facilitate. This is an opportunity to support our leraners while earning a few extra dollars. Our selection will be approved October 8th and must be submitted by Friday, October 11, 2024.
Please use the form to give your input into the selection process.
