Girls Basketball: Regional Final Information
The Hewitt-Trussville Girls Basketball team will face Chelsea in the AHSAA 7A Northeast Regional final on Tuesday. The game will be played at Jacksonville State University and will begin at 12:30pm. The winner of Tuesday's game will advance to the Final Four to be held at Legacy Arena February 29-March 2.

Live Stream:
Tuesday's game will be streamed live on the NFHS Network. Because this is a postseason event, a NFHS subscription will be required
Parking:
Parking has been added into the ticket price along with all facility fees. JSU will monitor the lots as well as provide lights and cameras for protection
Clear Bag Policy:
A clear bag policy is in effect for all athletic events at JSU. This includes all AHSAA Regional games
Rules and Regulations:
No megaphones/artificial noise makers. CONFETTI WILL NOT BE PERMITTED IN THE COLISEUM during the tournaments
Concessions:
JSU concession stands are cashless (credit or debit card only)
HT Girls Basketball Schedule/Results:
Wrestling Finishes 3rd at State Tournament
For the fourth consecutive year, the Hewitt-Trussville Wrestling team placed inside the top four at the State Tournament. This season, the Huskies finished 3rd at the season-ending event in Huntsville. The event capped an outstanding year for the Huskies. HT won the 7A Region 3 duals title and placed 3rd at the state duals event. The Huskies had eight wrestlers qualify for State and all eight were placers.
Clark Box completed an outstanding career by placing 2nd at 120. Box earned 22.5 team points. Bradley Hastings placed 2nd at 126 and earned 18 team points. Deuce Alston finished 2nd at 190 and scored 20 team points. Senior Zack Chatman was 2nd at 285 and scored 24 team points.
Gavin Bittle placed 3rd at 106 and scored 19 team points. Charlie Buttiker was 3rd at 165 and scored 19.5 team points. Ian Hodgin was 6th at 132 and scored eight team points. Jacob Triplett was 6th at 157 and earned nine team points.

Baseball Dominates on Opening Day
Hewitt-Trussville Baseball defeated Gadsden City 29-1 and 27-0 on opening day. The Huskies, 2-0 overall on the season, will host James Clemens Monday at 2:30pm.
Christian Helmers tossed a no-hitter and struck out 11. He also had four hits and seven RBI's. Cooper Huffman threw a five inning one-hitter. He also had five hits and seven RBI's. Brett Moseley had a pair of hits a including a three-run homer. Rob Wright had four hits and four RBI's and Carson Wideman had three hits and three RBI's.

Softball Walks it Off on Opening Night
Hewitt-Trussville Softball opened the 2024 season in dramatic fashion on Thursday night with a 4-3 walk-off win over Tuscaloosa County. The Huskies trailed 1-0 early, but Zaylen Tucker led off the bottom of the 1st with a home run to right field. The Wildcats led 3-1 in the 4th before the Huskies rallied again. Olivia Faggard walked then AhKeela Honeycutt blasted a homer to tie the game.
The contest remained tied 3-3 going into the bottom of the 7th. Tucker walked with one out to put the winning run on base. Later, Chaney Peters lined a ball to left field. Tucker raced home and slid in for the winning run.
The Huskies will travel to Central Phenix City on February 22 before competing in the Sidney Cooper Invitational.

Girls Golf Enjoys Successful Opening Event
The 2024 Girls Golf season began on Thursday. The Huskies traveled to Auburn to compete in the Auburn Invitational Tournament. HT placed 4th out of 19 teams in the event. The Huskies shot 238 as a team and finished just six strokes behind the first-place team.
Merritt Daniel was named to the All-Tournament team as she placed 4th overall after shooting 75. Aubrey Payne fired a 77 on Thursday. Morgan Hopper shot 86 and Emma Bark shot 89.
The Huskies will be in action again March 4-5 as they travel to Hoover Country Club for the March Madness tournament.

Girls Soccer Enjoys Undefeated Week
The Hewitt-Trussville Girls Soccer team went 3-0-1 this past week. The Huskies are now 4-1-2 overall on the season.
HT 1 Hoover 0
Reece Rutland scored an unassisted goal to clinch the road win.
HT 6 White Plains 0
Ella Cane scored three goals. Cailey Mosley, Caroline Krayer, and Janie Steele also scored. Libby Armstrong had three assists. Kate Willoughby and Clara Asbury also had an assist.
HT 1 James Clemens 1
Libby Armstrong scored an unassisted goal.
HT 2 Spanish Fort 1
Libby Armstrong and Janie Steele had goals for the Huskies.
HT Girls Soccer Schedule/Results:
Boys Tennis Beats McGill
The HT Boys Tennis team won their 4th consecutive match on Saturday with a 6-3 victory over McGill-Toolen. Carter Jordan, Griffin Greenhaw, Blake Woods, Seth Bollinger, and Kyle Jones all won in singles play. Bollinger and Jones added a victory in doubles play as well.
The Huskies will open Section play on Thursday against Thompson.

Boys Golf Opens Season in Point Clear
The Hewitt-Trussville Boys Golf team opens the 2024 season this week. The Huskies will be in Point Clear February 19-20 to compete in the David Miller Memorial.
The Huskies will next travel to Tuscaloosa March 4-5 for the ACA Tournament.

MS Softball Wins Tournament
The HTMS Softball team went undefeated this weekend to capture the championship in Moody. The Huskies are now 6-0 overall on the season.

In the championship game, Sophia Shubert picked up the win in the circle as she allowed just two hits and one run. Cate Bruce and Reese Headley had two hits each. Hadley Mitchell had three RBI's.
MS Baseball Opens With a Win
HTMS Baseball defeated Helena 11-2 to open the season. Hudson Mitchell had 11 strikeouts and did not allow a hit. Dylan Price had four hits and two doubles and Clark Durden added two hits.
