Support the Ross Tree Sale & Dec 3 Holiday Festival

We need your help to make these events a success!


The annual Ross Tree Sale & Holiday Festival are important fundraising events for Ross and fun, festive community-building activities for our school, Ross families, and our neighbors! But we need help from the entire Ross community to make them happen.


When: Weekends of Nov 26-27 and Dec 3-4

Where: On the Ross field and playground


How You can Help:

  • Sign up to volunteer here! Volunteers are needed to sell trees onsite and/or deliver trees, during 2-3 hour shifts. Kids can play on the playground during shifts.



  • Share this link and the flyer attached below to spread the word among local friends, family, and neighbors!

Bake Sale volunteers

Help with the Bake Sale (10-4pm)

Our annual Bake Sale will be held Sat Dec 3, 10am to 4pm on the Ross playground, as part of the Holiday Festival and Tree Sale.


Are you ready to show off your baking skills?


We need families to donate baked goods and volunteers to cover shifts to staff the table and help with set-up and clean-up.

Miriam's Kitchen volunteer project

Help with our Volunteer Project (10am-Noon)

As part of the Dec 3 Holiday Festival, we're organizing a volunteer project with Miriam's Kitchen.


Ross students will pack bags of supplies (like hats, gloves, etc.) for the Miriam's Kitchen outreach team. Volunteer sign-up sheet for kids to come!

Decorate Holiday Ornaments (1-3pm)

As part of the Dec 3 Holiday Festival, Treehouse Atelier will be hosting an ornament-decorating station from 1-3pm on the Ross playground!


After you pick out your holiday tree and wreath, stop by to create your own unique decoration!

Nov 22 - Teacher & Staff Gratitude Breakfast

As we enter the holiday season, the PTA wanted to give the Ross community an opportunity to give thanks to the teachers and staff who make sure our school is a safe, welcoming, and vibrant place to learn. There are a few different ways you can get involved:


  • On Tues, Nov. 22, the PTA will sponsor a breakfast buffet. Please sign up here to contribute a delicious treat or help with set up or clean up.


  • We also have a community e-card that will be delivered to the teachers and staff that day. Click here to leave a note, photo or video of thanks for all they do.

Thank You for Running 4 MK!

Congrats to the Ross Runs 4 MK team, who ran in Miriam's Kitchen's annual Run 4 MK race last weekend and raised over $1,100 to support MK's mission to help end chronic and veteran homelessness in DC!

Next LSAT Meeting - Tues Nov 29, 5pm

The Ross Local School Advisory Team (LSAT) will meet on Tues, Nov 29 at 5 pm. Agenda topics include: Ross’s enrollment projections, class sizes, and the staffing model for the next school year. You can join the meeting (at that time) using this link.


The LSAT is an official advisory group made up of parents and Ross staff. You can find out more about the Ross LSAT at https://rosselementary.org/lsat/.
