I hope that you had a wonderful Easter weekend and enjoyed the wonderful weather! Our juniors have completed their ACT testing, so it is about time for TCAP, EOC, SDC, and AP testing for all of us. On Monday, April 8th, the MVS Academic Support Center will be closed and the MVS front office will close at 1:00. Be sure to enjoy the eclipse that afternoon!

The 2024-25 FAFSA form is a very important financial aid document that you will need to help your child complete if he/she plans to attend ANY post-secondary education in the 24-25 school year. Also, for students to remain eligible for the TN Promise scholarship, the FAFSA must be completed by April 15, 2024. If you plan to complete the FAFSA with your child, please visit fafsa.gov to start the process.

Tennessee Tech’s College of Engineering would like to extend an invitation to rising 10th, 11th and 12th grade students for the 2024 Explorations in Engineering and Computing Summer Camp. This is a 3-day summer camp to learn about engineering, computing, and engineering technology. During this camp, students will get to experience and take part in hands-on projects related to the top engineering and computing fields, taught by our engaging faculty members. Students will work directly with industry leaders, tour and experiment in state-of-the-art laboratories, and experience all college life has to offer. During this program, students will be mentored by current Tennessee Tech students and learn what it means to be an engineering student. Students may choose to attend the camp either June 23-26 or July 14-17 (students may not attend both camps). For further information and to apply for EEC, please see here. Students must request their 1010 Form before going to the DMV to receive their Learner’s Permit. Please call MVS or email Jennifer Davis. 1010 forms are given based on the previous 9 weeks' grades. If you are failing multiple classes, you are not eligible for a 1010 form until your grades are brought up to passing. The 1010 forms are good for 30 days during the school year.

If you are turning in any late work, be sure to always contact your teacher after submitting the assignment. Teachers are not notified when a student submits assignments after the due date, so they may not know you even turned something in.

Please remember to email your teachers and the MVS front office any doctor's notes for appointments or illness. Each student has 10 "parent convenience" days that are considered excused with no note. Any absences beyond those 10 days without a medical or legal note will be marked unexcused.
