Ideas for Using Jamboard

Not long ago, Richard Byrne published an article with five ideas for using Jamboard in your classroom this fall. Jamboard is one of my favorite tools and I've been sharing it at schools across the district, especially recently. Check out his article for all the details!

Free 3D Icons

Thanks to Eric Curts, I just discovered the 3D icons that I've been wanting!

For those of you who have seen any of my presentations, you know that I love using icons and images. I do it with my students too. My favorite resource for flat icons is The Noun Project (full disclosure: I have a Pro Educator account, which is half the cost of non-educators).

But Eric shared free3dicon.com, which contains a growing collection of FREE 3D icons that can be used in your projects, presentations, whatever. Not only are they free, but they are also copyright-free, meaning that you don't have to provide attribution. Each icon comes with two image (.png) files: one with a shadow and one without. You can pay to get other perspectives of the icon, but I don't see myself doing that.

What have we learned so far this year?

A few weeks ago, my friend Meredith White and I discussed some ways to reflect on these first few months of school. We wanted something quick and easy but also thoughtful. We came up with three questions:

What have you worried about?
What have you hoped for?
What's the reality been like?

THEN, to take it up a notch, we made it a Venn Diagram (see mine below). This shouldn't be something huge but I encourage you to take those questions and discuss with your closest teacher friends.
