A Message from Dr. Gomez
We made it! What a year to celebrate!
Review:
This year we achieved many things!
We demonstrated tremendous growth on our Spring NWEA test scores. Our growth scores in math exceeded our goals and expectations for the year! Additionally, our achievement scores are on the rise!
We worked hard to build positive relationships with students and families with our theme for the year "You belong here!"
We gave awards at our 6th and 7th grade awards ceremony this week to honor high acheivement, growth, and character. It is an honor to present these awards to such well-deserving students!
We watched 200 kids cross the bridge to high school on Thursday evening and clapped them out of the building at the end of the half-day on Friday! There were many, many tears shed by students and staff, alike.
We started some new traditions that we hope will carry on for years to come: The Polar Bear Stroll, Golden Ticket Day, The Salome Reyes "Sunshine" Award, 8th Grade BBQ, 8th Grade Clapout, and more!
We got our trophy case cleaned up and decorated to celebrate the achievemnts of our students and highlight the undefeated season of our 8th grade Boys' Basketball team!
We are grateful for all the families who continue to support AMS and share their wonderful experiences!
Preview:
8th graders and families: We wish you the best of luck at the high school. Do great things and represent the our HERD values of being Helpful, Empathetic, Responsible, and Driven. You will be missed!
Next year, we are looking forward to another great year! Please stay tuned for summer updates!
The Best Thing:
The best thing this week (year?) was celebrating our spirited 8th grade students and seeing all the families show up to support them at the Bridging Ceremony and Reception. We had wall to wall people at the reception. The weather held for the ceremony and the day ended up being beautiful. People were kind to one another and, of course, the students were so excited. We also enjoyed our first 8th grade BBQ with smoked chicken and brisket from Mr. Masen and Deputy Nagy who spent the whole night at school preparing the food! Finally, Mr. Thornbro (our only retireee this year) led the whole 8th grade class out through a sea of clapping and cheering classmates and teachers!
8th Grade Bridging Ceremony
The 8th Grade Bridging Ceremony was an amazing evening! Students were able to enjoy this special time with their families and teachers as they prepare to move on to high school. Please check out all the GREAT photos from the evening!
See lots more photos from the 8th Grade Bridging Ceremony HERE!
Drama Class Performance
Enjoy these photos from a wonderful performance by Ms. Bahorski's drama class! The fractured fairytales were so fun to watch.

Protocols for Parent Concerns
Middle School is a tumultuous time for students and parents. This may lead to a clasrrom or building concern. We ask that you please follow the protocol outlined in the document below. We want to partner with families to create a postitive learning environment. Please make sure you are respectful in your communications and allow time to investigate and follow-up with you. We hope that having a system in place provides more clarity and allows us to help you resolve any concerns you may have.
If you're unable to connect with your child's teacher directly, we've provided a convenient link below to submit a parent concern form. Our main office will review these forms daily and reach out to you with next steps within 72 hours, initiating an investigation and ensuring resolution.
Thank you!
