Tri County Elementary

- Beginning this week, students will complete their final NWEA test for the school year! It is very important that students are in attendance to complete testing. A good night's rest and a healthy breakfast are helpful to be successful.
- Please be sure your child is dressed for outdoor weather, as all students go outside for recess. We still recommend that students bring boots to school for wet/muddy playgrounds. An extra set of clothes can be helpful if your student gets wet at recess.
- If you have reached out to your students teacher to volunteer in the classroom, participate in field trips, or events, a Volunteer Consent Form must be filled out. A new form and background check must be completed each school year. This can be obtained from the office. A copy of your state-issued driver's license is required to process all volunteer applications. Print the volunteer form here: Volunteer Form
- If your student is absent, please call the office attendance line, (231) 937-4380, press 1. Absences must be reported to the office within 24 hours for it to be excused. A reason for the students absence must be stated or it will be considered unexcused. If you know ahead of time that your student will be absent, a planned absence form can be filled out and submitted to the office. Print a TCE planned absence form here: TCE Planned Absence Form

End of the Day Changes
Any changes to how your student is going home for the day needs to be received by the office no later than 2:45pm. After this time, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to get end-of-the-day notifications to your student. As you can imagine, the end of the school day can be very busy in the office. For this reason, we discourage early pickups after 3:00pm. In the case of an emergency, please call the office to prearrange a pickup time- 231-937-4830
Important Update
Please see the following statement from Mr. Garrison
Dear TCE Families,
I am writing to let you know that I will be retiring from my position at Tri County Elementary on Friday, May 30. After 34 years in education, it was an honor and a privilege to support our amazing students at both Tri County and McNaughton Elementaries. The incredibly supportive families at TCE have given me many lasting memories that I am truly grateful for.

A Note From Our District Nurses
Dear Parents/guardians,
Spring/Summer season is upon us which means ticks are also here. Please make sure to check your child every evening/morning to ensure they are tick free. If one is discovered at school we will be contacting you prior to removal. We have attached a tip sheet from the CDC.
Dressing for the Weather🌞
Student Dress Code
As temperatures warm up this Spring, please be mindful of the student dress code. Should your child choose to wear shorts, they need to be long enough so that they come down to the child's fingertips when their arms are held down at their sides. We do not encourage students to wear sandals/flip flops to school. (they often break) If your child chooses to wear this type of footwear, please make sure he/she has a pair of covered shoes (athletic, etc.) to change into for recess/gym class.
