Reminder! Comparability
The deadline for submitting the CAD, and the CCF if applicable, is November 22nd. Please reach out for assistance if you need it.
The CAD, for exempt LEAs, is now available for completion and submission electronically through an online survey. You are exempt if you meet one of the following exemption criteria:
No Title I, Part A funding
One campus per grade span group
Multiple campuses in the grade span group, yet no overlap of grade levels
Overlap of grade levels but no Title I, Part A or skipped campuses in the grade span group
Excluding a campus or campuses results in no basis for comparison
The CCF, along with instructions for completing/submitting that form and the instructions for completing/submitting the CAD survey, are available on the Title I, Part A Comparability of Services page of the TEA website and through the Grants and Federal Fiscal Compliance Reports and Data Collections (GFFC Reports) secure application, accessible through TEAL.
Title IV, Part A - School Safety Resource
‘The Role of Districts in Developing High-Quality School Emergency Operations Plans: A Companion to the School Guide’ was released by the USDE in September of 2019. "This guide complements the earlier School Guide by recommending specific roles and responsibilities for district-level administrators and staffs. Districts’ recommended responsibilities include the following:
- Coordinating with schools and community partners to make EOPs a collaborative effortand help ensure integration with district, local, regional, state, tribal, and federal agencyEOPs;
- Providing planning parameters for use by schools throughout the entire district, e.g.,minimum set of annexes, minimum set of prioritized hazards and threats; and
- Supporting schools at each step as they develop EOPs that address all types of emergencies and are tailored to fit each school’s individual needs.
This guide recommends that districts apply the same planning principles; follow the same six-step process and complete the tasks associated with each step, that underlie the planning process described in the School Guide. The District Guide, however, provides more district-focused information". Want to view the entire 89 page resource? Download the document below!
