CLEVELAND SCHOOL OF THE ARTS
WEEKLY NEWSLETTER FOR UPDATES & REMINDERS
Week of: September 23, 2024
A note from the Head of School
Dear CSA Family and Friends,
I hope this message finds you well. I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for your continued support and dedication to your child’s academic success. Your involvement in their education is truly invaluable and continues to strengthen our community.
Exciting News! We are thrilled to announce that our school has received a four-star rating (out of five) on the Ohio State report card! This is a tremendous accomplishment and serves as a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, teachers, faculty, and the unwavering support of our families. Together, we are making great strides in academic excellence, and we couldn’t be prouder of this achievement. Thank you for your continued partnership in your child’s success!
A special thank you to all the fathers and father figures who attended last week’s annual “Fathers Walk ” event. It was inspiring to witness so many strong and powerful men come together to celebrate the importance of education. Your presence and commitment made the event truly special, and we are grateful for your involvement in your scholars’ journeys.
As we continue to support our scholars, I’d like to remind you of the importance of checking their grades regularly through the PowerHub Parent Portal. Staying informed about your child’s academic progress is key to ensuring their success. If any family has not yet received login access to the Parent Portal, please reach out to Mr. Franklin at ricardo.franklinsr@clevelandmetroschools.org or Mr. Hilt at kendall.hilt@clevelandmetroschools.org for assistance.
I also want to remind everyone that our main office closes daily at 2:30 PM for early pick-ups. If you need to pick up your scholar early, it must be done before this time. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in following this procedure.
Additionally, as we navigate our new cell phone-free environment, it’s important for everyone to adjust their communications between school and home. We ask that when calling the school, it be for reporting important matters related to your child, such as being tardy, absent, or needing to leave early. We’ve been receiving a high volume of non-urgent messages for students during class. Interrupting classes to deliver messages not only disrupts your scholar’s learning but also the learning environment of the entire class. Please help us maintain a focused academic setting by reserving phone calls for urgent matters only.
- Homecoming "The Black and Silver Ball" – Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 19, from 6 PM to 10 PM. Tickets will go on sale during the week of September 30 for $15 each. Please note that any students bringing dates from outside schools must receive approval from the school administration prior to the event.
- Afterschool Study Tables Starting Monday! We are excited to offer voluntary afterschool study tables beginning this Monday from 3:10 PM - 4:00 PM! This is a great opportunity for scholars to complete missing assignments, catch up on work, or simply have a quiet place to focus. If your scholar is interested in participating, please have them see a member of the administrative team for more details. Study Tables are not tutoring sessions. Please see below for the tutoring schedule.
