CMIT North High School: Voices of the Tiger Community
CMIT North High School values and supports our diverse community. As Ramadan begins on the evening of February 28 and concludes on March 29, we are ensuring accommodations for our fasting students. Likewise, the Lenten season, observed from March 5 (Ash Wednesday) to April 17 (Holy Thursday), is an important time for our Christian community.
Additionally, Quarter 3 after Progress began this week, marking another step in our academic journey. Our newsletter continues to celebrate the achievements, creativity, and dedication of our students, staff, and community. Stay engaged, share your stories, and help shape the legacy of CMIT North High School!
Letβs keep the momentum going and make every moment count! β Dr. Clarke
BEYOND CLASSROOM
Learning goes beyond the classroom through hands-on experiences that foster critical thinking and real-world problem-solving. From research projects to service learning and extracurricular activities, students engage in meaningful opportunities that prepare them for future success.
CMIT North Students Engage with Maryland Lt. Governor Aruna Miller at U.S. Naval Academyβs High School Space and Astronaut Convocation
On February 27, 2025, CMIT North High School students had the distinguished honor of attending the U.S. Naval Academyβs High School Space and Astronaut Convocation, an event highlighted by the presence of Maryland Lt. Governor Aruna Miller. As a champion of STEM education and innovation, Maryland Lt. Governor Miller delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the critical role of young minds in shaping the future of aerospace, engineering, and space exploration.
Her speech resonated deeply with students, as she encouraged them to embrace curiosity, challenge the limits of science, and pursue careers in STEM fields. Lt. Governor Miller also underscored Marylandβs commitment to fostering educational opportunities that bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world application, particularly in cutting-edge industries such as space technology and aeronautics.
As one of CMIT Northβs strongest STEM partners, the U.S. Naval Academy continues to provide invaluable opportunities for students to engage in high-level research, hands-on engineering experiences, and mentorship from leading experts. Throughout the event, students participated in interactive workshops and expert-led presentations at Luce Hall, Rickover Hall, and Hopper Hall, exploring topics such as orbital mechanics, aerodynamics, and astronomy. The day culminated in the Astronaut Convocation at Mahan Auditorium, where students had the opportunity to interact with esteemed professionals, gaining insights into careers in space science and engineering.
The event not only reinforced CMIT Northβs dedication to STEM excellence but also provided students with an unparalleled opportunity to learn from Lt. Governor Miller, whose advocacy for equity in STEM and investment in the next generation of innovators left a lasting impression.
CMIT North extends its gratitude to Lt. Governor Aruna Miller and the U.S. Naval Academy for hosting an event that inspired, educated, and empowered the students who will one day lead the future of science, technology, and space exploration.
