Las Positas Family Updates
March 2025
Dear Las Positas Families,
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to our amazing PTA for organizing a fantastic book fair for our students. Your hard work and dedication are truly appreciated!
Important Reminders for Pick-Up/Drop-Off Procedures
As we continue to prioritize the safety and efficiency of our school traffic flow, please take note of the following:
- Stay in Your Car: If you're using the drive-through lane, please remain in your vehicle. If you need to get out of your car or walk your child up, we kindly ask that you park in a designated spot to do so.
- No Parking on Schoolwood Curve: Please avoid parking along the curve on Schoolwood going up the hill. This creates an unsafe turn for buses exiting the area.
- Respect Neighbors' Driveways: We’ve received reports of parents blocking driveways. Kindly be considerate and ensure you're not obstructing their property. Continued issues may result in residents contacting local authorities.
We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our school community safe and respectful!
Please take the LCAP survey to help us plan our goals for next year. We value your feedback!

As we welcome spring, we also begin an important time of year—testing season! ELPAC testing is already underway for our English Learners, and CAASPP testing will begin soon. These assessments help us understand student progress and provide valuable insights to support their learning. Thank you for encouraging your child to do their best!
We have a few days left of our Kids Heart Challenge! It is not too late to sign up online or send in the form. Here is how you can help:
- Sign Up/Log In TODAY at http://www2.heart.org/goto/LasPositasElementary or by downloading the free AHA Schools App for Apple or Android
- Just Send 10 emails/texts to friends & family in your HQ asking for a donation! You can also post to social!
- Complete Finn’s Mission to learn Hands-Only CPR and be entered to win a pair of Super Bowl tickets!

On March 7, join us at school for Donuts with Do! Our topic for this month is Social Media and Technology Safety. Donuts and Refreshments will be served! Small children are ALWAYS welcome!
Upcoming Learner Profile of the Month by Ms. Riggs, IB Coordinator
The Learner Profile Attribute for March is Open-Minded. As IB learners we strive to be open-minded. We who are open-minded understand and appreciate our own cultures and personal histories, and are open to the perspectives, values and traditions of other individuals and communities. We are accustomed to seeking and evaluating a range of points of view, and are willing to grow from the experience.
What can you do at home?
- Encourage students to try new things – new foods, new games and new activities.
- Encourage students to really listen to others when they speak.
- Encourage students to be honest, understanding they don’t know everything and can admit it.
- Help students handle constructive feedback, and understand that they can learn from their mistakes.
