INPUT SESSION FOR PRINCIPAL

Dear Gage Elementary School Staff and Families:
We are grateful to Kathy for her love and dedication to the Gage community. As we are preparing to bid her farewell in her retirement, we are also preparing to engage in the process of a selection of a new Principal for Gage Elementary.
The position will be posted for recruitment on April 1, 2025 and will close on April 10, 2025. This will be followed by a multi-step interview process.
In the San Diego Unified School District we value staff and community input in the hiring process. In order to ensure our recruitment and interview processes are aligned to the hopes and needs of the Gage community, I will be conducting meetings to share our district process for hiring and to gather input around the leadership criteria for the principal position.

25-26 AFTERSCHOOL NEEDS ASSESSMENT
Our Site Governance Team (SGT) needs your input to make collaborative decisions regarding our school's afterschool programming available for students enrolled in our primetime program. Please take a moment to fill out this survey. Site Goverance Team is the structure used at a school site for shared decision making. Members of the SGT include parents, administrators, staff and students to make collaborative decisions to improve instructional programs and culture of our school. We are gathering your valuable input to provide quality options for afterschool academic enrichment programs.
We will share your feedback at one of our upcoming SGT meetings.
CAASPP TESTING THIS APRIL
California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) is coming. The statewide system of assessments that "measures student skills in English, math, and science" is tentatively scheduled to begin April 15. Please direct any questions related to testing to Mr. Ferro (jferro@sandi.net)
PRIMETIME 25-26
2025-26 Initial PrimeTime Application Launches: Monday, April 14, 2025, at 8:00 a.m.
ALL families of students attending one of the 144 elementary, middle school and TK-8 sites offering PrimeTime will receive an email AND text with a student specific application link beginning Monday, April 14, 2025.
Parents may notify the school site to update their contact information.
Initial PrimeTime Application Timeline: Monday, April 14, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. and closes Sunday, May 2, 2025, 9:59 p.m.

SEND A LOVE NOTE
- We want to expand our efforts of recognizing our educator colleagues (both inside and outside the classroom) beyond a once a year celebration. We will begin a monthly celebration of educators across our district and across roles through a nomination process that can be accessed via this LINK
- We encourage everyone to have access to this nomination form (colleagues, students, families, community members, etc) and will be circulating it throughout our larger community. This is how we will Live Our Values Every (LOVE) day, week, and month.

PTA BOARD POSITIONS OPENINGS...
for next school year:
We are in need of a new Treasurer next school year. Do you have a background in bookkeeping, accounting, and or just a knack for numbers? Then we need you! Please consider volunteering with the PTA Board. Nominations and voting will occur at our April PTA meeting.
PARENTS' NIGHT OUT!
Mark your calendars for the Annual Gage Parents' Night Out Fiesta! New venue and new night this year! Friday, May 2nd starting at 6 PM to 10 PM located at Admiral Baker clubhouse in Allied Gardens.
The planning Committee is hard at work to make this an amazing Parents Night Out. We are looking for donations of auction items; Padres Tickets, Wave Tickets, Concert Tickets, camp or sports experiences for kids, vacation homes, sports memorabilia, wine, gift cards etc. Please email gageelementaryfiesta@gmail.com
Back by popular demand the class basket raffle will be offered at the event only, must be preset to win!
Stay tuned for contact from your child’s room parent for the classes theme and how to make this year’s the most epic class basket ever!
Always fun and popular Teacher Features are in the works and will be available for auction. We will also be offering a wine pull for presale tickets and at the event. Amanda Kop will be taking beloved black and white candid photos of your Gage Gator, available in print and digital copies.
Tickets for the event will be available for purchase before spring break.
Got plans for May 2nd? Don’t worry the auction will be live and online! You can participate anywhere you are!

As we wrap up the 2024-2025 season, we have exciting opportunities waiting for you! Help us organize new garden beds and dive into our "All About Bees" unit, while our Culinary program finishes strong with "The Feast."
