News and Announcements
Nine Mustangs Qualify for State‼️
Congrats to nine Walnut High School Wrestlers who qualified for the California State Wrestling Championship. This team also features 8 CIF Individual Champions & 4 Southern Section Masters Champions. They started wrestling yesterday with the hopes of making it to championship Saturday! Wish them luck!
Celebrating our Seniors who Rocked it on the State Test!
Starting in March, our Juniors will take the State test in English, Math, and Science.
Choir Wins Big In San Diego!
Shoutout to our Choir Director, Mrs. Lisa Lopez, who took our Choir kids to San Diego last weekend for a competition. It was the first overnight trip since 2019 for our Choir students. They took first place in showmanship and musicianship. Senior Caroline Lim won the award for best performer.
GLC Summer Registration Appointments are Live!
Class of 2025, 2026 and 2027 Walnut High School students should have received an email from their GLC via Sign Up Genius with a link to select their summer registration appointment.
Parents, please coordinate with your student your preferred date and time! Sibling appointments will not be made for you.
PLEASE NOTE: INCOMING FRESHMAN WILL RECEIVE THEIR EMAIL INVITATIONS ON MARCH 13TH.
Registration appointments will be held from July 1 - July 26.
IMPORTANT: Student schedules will be created in June based on their course request selections. There is no benefit or drawback to selecting the first summer or last appointments; please set the appointment time that best fits your schedule. Summer appointments are to review schedules, check for scheduling mistakes, and to ensure that your student is taking the most appropriate courses for their grade level and post-secondary plans. Teacher change requests will not be honored.

State Testing Practice Next Week!

WVWD’s annual High School Media Contest and this year’s theme is “Let’s Dive In: Why Water Professionals Matter”. Below are a few key details for the contest:
Deadline:
- Submissions must be submitted at walnutvalleywater.gov/community/school-programs/media-contest/ NO LATER THAN Friday, March 1, 2024.
Prizes:
- 1st Place $250; 2nd Place $200; 3rd Place $150; 4th Place $100
Teacher Participation Prizes:
- Teachers who have at least 5 student submissions* will get this Amazon Wishlist cleared (up to $100 of school-related supplies)

Free After School Tutoring
School Lunch Policy
Due to many problems and safety issues we DO NOT allow student lunches to be delivered anywhere on campus.
Food, drinks or other items are NOT to be passed to students through the fence. This is strictly prohibited.
Outside Food Delivery Services such as UBER Eats/Door Dash is strictly prohibited. Food will be confiscated if deliveries are dropped off.
We understand the importance of student nutrition but we encourage students to either use the free lunch at school or bring their lunch from home.

- Download California Driver's License
- Download evidence of vehicle insurance coverage with student listed as insured driver
Once the Parking Application is completed stickers will be issued by Mrs. Markel at the Assistant Principal's office. If you had a parking decal last year, you MUST complete the form again this year and replace your old sticker. You must display the sticker on your car before parking in our lot. You have until the end of the week to pick up your sticker. WVUSD is NOT responsible for any damage or theft of the vehicle, this includes any articles left in it.

ACT/PSAT TEST INFORMATION
Attendance Counts!
Please remember that attendance counts, every period, every day. Students will be marked absent if they are not at the beginning of each period to verify their attendance.
All single-period absences will need to be reconciled through the attendance office by the student. If marked absent, students will receive an email from the attendance office notifying them that they have been marked absent. The notification will include the date and period of the absence. The student will need to contact the Attendance Department to make any necessary corrections to their individual period attendance. For full-day absences, a parent/guardian must contact the attendance office by the end of the day.
